‘Mama June’ Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird New Relationship Over?
Is Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird’s new relationship with Darrin Kitchens already over after just a short period? The two allegedly started hooking up in April 2024 when Pumpkin was still married. More so, he is her estranged husband, Josh Efird’s cousin but Mama June more than embraced him. So, what is leading people to believe it has come to an end? Keep reading for more details.
Mama June Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird New Relationship Over?
Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird seemed to be in a relationship before she even filed for divorce. The mother of four filed on August 1st from Josh Efird after nine years together and six years of marriage. Though she maintained that it was a mutual decision, it did not feel that way. It soon came out that she was dating his cousin, Darrin Kitchens. More so, she allegedly hooked up with Darrin in April right after his and Josh’s grandma passed. Infidelity on her part had been thrown around yet no one knew if that was true.
Within a very short time of filing, Pumpkin was seen on Darrin’s Snapchat. They were also posting photos together on social media and acting very happy together. He is currently expecting a baby with his ex-wife’s close friend, Keely who was spending time with Josh. Josh and Keely were living together for some time after he and Pumpkin split but that has since ended. As for Pumpkin and Darrin, they went on vacation to Vegas with her family but has that all come crashing down?
A Reddit thread has been started after a follower spotted Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird’s Facebook profile. There, it says she is “Single.” The truth is, once her marriage ended, she put “Single” and never changed it with Darrin. So, what did followers have to say?
- Did they actually have that they were in a relationship on FB? I don’t remember her changing the relationship status with Darrin.

Her status went from married to single and has stayed that way/never changed even with Darrin in the picture.
- She never put in a relationship with Darrin on Facebook. Darrin never changed his to in a relationship either.
Together But Never Official
As followers noted, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird never changed her status, and neither did Darrin Kitchens. However, those who did not realize this immediately saw the relationship was set up for failure:

- I mean seriously if ppl thought it would last. She just like her mama!
They also really did not want her to go back to her estranged husband, Josh Efird. For now, it does not appear Pumpkin and Darrin have parted ways and she just never changed her status. This could be for legal reasons when it comes to her divorce proceedings. Maybe she will when all is said and done.

Pumpkin was so harsh on June, downright evil to her at times. Now she has lost all credibility. So much for being a better mom. I guess she learned the hard way that adults make mistakes. Especially ones that stick with them and allow people to judge you for the rest of your life. Great job, Pumpkin. Way to put your kids first.
All involved are lacking moral boundaries. Not good role models for their children.
Surprise, surprise…I think everyone knew but her that this relationship was anything but a good time for them both. And having relations/ship with his blood relative? 🤢 Yet, Josh loves her so much, he’s been so loving and supportive being the father of her children, he’d probably go there again. But, I’m sure it’ll be a point of contention between them for years if reunited. She really rubbed his nose in it. He should insist that she partake in some serious therapy, regardless of reconciliation or not. She’s gone off the deep end failing to realize that there’s always those facing situations more troubling than your own.

Am not surprised,with a mother like June who goes from man to man, steals money from Alana, and wasted finances on everybody but her own children, now they think the public should send them money?! This family and especially Pumpkin is screaming for grief counseling and therapy!! This is totally Pumpkin acting out and responding to her grief and a life of overwhelming events of traumas that have gone off in her life over and over! Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb until she reached her limit and just broke. Many if none has she had time to completely heal from. So please be kinder and not so judgmental. Healing and help.
