How Will Hallmark+ Change Reality TV?

Hallmark Media is launching its rebranded streaming channel Hallmark+ on September 10. This new channel will offer original content that includes mysteries, drama, and Reality TV. Speaking to Real Screen, long-time reality television producer David Stefanou revealed what makes the feel-good network’s brand of reality programming. It all starts with heart.b

He began, It’s uplifting, heart-driven, community-driven, connected feeling television.” Next, he shared “But it’s exciting to try to find those themes in the real world. And I think we all agree that the real world is a pretty intense place right now, is I think finding those kinds of heartfelt stories right next door, or in your own backyard in town, is a very exciting thing to be able to create”

Hallmark+ Offers ‘Safe’ Alternative To Other Reality TV

Although Hallmark+ is a streaming channel, don’t expect the network’s Reality TV shows to be tacky or inappropriate for children. Stefanou promised they are not going to try anything crazy on the network’s unscripted shows.

“People, I think, are compelled to make super-salacious and edgy shows to get the most attention.” He then shared, Hallmark is a place you go to feel safe, to feel connected and get away from all that stress and off of that noise.” The reality television veteran wants to create “real stories that will give you that warm, cozy feeling.”
