Snooki Accuses ‘Jersey Shore’ Producers Of Instigating Her Arrest
Thanks to Jersey Shore, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is known for many infamous moments. However, the one that really tops the list was when the police arrested her in Season 3 for being drunk and disorderly. While that is hard to forget, the reality TV star says that there is more to the arrest than what most people know.
Here is what Snooki said really happened at the moment of her arrest on Jersey Shore and how the show’s producers allegedly contributed to it.
Snooki Talks Jersey Shore Arrest
According to Snooki, there was much more to her arrest than Jersey Shore showed. Nicole alleges that the producers of her reality TV show were involved in the arrest when it happened. For those who don’t remember, the arrest happened on July 30, 2010, airing in Season 3 of the MTV reality TV show.
Nicole was on the Therapuss podcast when she was asked about the arrest. At the time, police officers on the scene arrested Snooki for being “drunk and disorderly” and “causing a scene.” Thanks to the arrest, prosecutors charged her with disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, and criminal annoyance of others.
She showed up in court in September and agreed to a plea bargain, where only the disturbing the peace charge remained. She paid a $500 fine and did community service. Judge Damian G. Murray actually called her a “Lindsay Lohan wannabe” when handing down the sentence (via The Seattle Times).
“Rude, profane, obnoxious, and self-indulgent is not the way to live your life,” the judge said. “If this was your idea of a good time, it appears your recent celebrity has affected your judgment.”
Snooki Says Jersey Shore Producers Set Her Up
When Snooki pleaded guilty and accepted the plea bargain, she apologized to the Seaside police. “This is not like me. I’ve never been in this situation before. I’d definitely like to apologize to anybody I hurt,” she said.
Now, 14 years removed from the incident, Snooki has a different outlook on things. In the new podcast episode, she claims the police officers were not even on duty for the town when they arrested her. “Those cops weren’t on shift for the town,” she said. “They were on shift from production to make sure they are protecting us from crazy people.”
She then made the big accusation. “I don’t even think it’s legal because they weren’t working for the town, but I watched the video back, and one of the producers said, ‘Just arrest her.'”
Her thought that it wasn’t “legal” is wrong, as the judge clearly said she broke the law and was guilty. However, her main accusation is that the producers told the police to arrest her, possibly for entertainment value for Jersey Shore.
