Meri Brown took to social media to share an update about her Utah Bed & Breakfast. The Sister Wives star isn’t sure what the future looks like for her B&B or what the next steps are. Here is what she revealed about why she’s decided to close the doors.

Meri Brown Shuts Down The B&B Indefinitely

On Wednesday, Meri shared a photo carousel of different rooms throughout her Utah Bed & Breakfast. Each room showed off Lizzie Heritage Inn’s vintage style. Several photos also showed the Sister Wives star’s pup, Zona, roaming around the B&B.

In the caption, Meri Brown revealed her plans for the future of the inn. “Time to say goodbye…. If only for a moment….” she started the post.

“This beautiful 154 year old home is in need of some tlc and needs some renovation, so I’ve made the decision to shut down the b&b for regular visits,” Meri shared.

She continued, stating that she wasn’t sure how long the inn would have to be closed. It will all depend on what is uncovered during the renovation process. However, the home will still be open for special events, like a Halloween haunted house in October. Meri Brown instructed fans to check the inn’s website for more information about upcoming events.

“But for now, enjoy these photos of what ‘was’ and look forward with me to what will be!” she concluded the Instagram post. “I’ve got some fun and exciting things planned for these spaces! The next little while will be filled with fun and anticipation, and I’m excited for what’s to come!”

Fans took to the comment section to let Meri know their opinions on the upcoming renovations. Several people said that they hoped she kept some of the vintage look and feel of the place. “It looks fabulous the way it is, the history that it has. Well I hope u leave some vintage in it. Good luck and can’t wait to see the updates,” on Instagram user wrote.

A number of other fans suggested that she team up with other TLC stars for the Reno. Others simply hoped she would share some of the process with fans online.

The History Of Lizzie’s Heritage Inn

Meri Brown bought Lizzie’s Heritage Inn in December 2017. She made the purchase on her own without any help from her estranged husband Kody Brown. Fans may recall that he turned her down when she asked for assistance with money for the inn.

Meri’s great-great-grandparents built the house in 1870. For four generations, someone in Meri’s family stayed in the home, but it eventually sold out of the family in the 1980s. However, the Sister Wives star made sure it remained in the family.

This is only the second time Meri has decided to close Lizzie’s Heritage Inn for an extended amount of time. In 2021, she closed the doors after her mom, Bonnie Ahlstrom, died. Bonnie previously served as the innkeeper and was notably a favorite part of the stay for many people.

Two months after Bonnie’s death, Meri reopened the B&B. Now, there is no telling how long the doors will remain closed, but fans hope Meri Brown keeps them updated along the way.

Season 19 of Sister Wives premieres on Sunday, September 15 at 10 p.m. EST.
