Tori Spelling Talks Estrangement From Co-Star, Brian Austin Green
For a decade, Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green played Donna Martin and David Silver respectively on Beverly Hills, 90210. They had a special love story and even when their characters broke up, they found their way back to each other. Donna even lost her virginity to David who was her first love and the series ended with the two tying the knot. It was a love story for the ages and, in real life, the actors did date at the start of the iconic FOX show. Then, throughout its run, they proceeded to date other people.
He was in a long-term relationship with Tiffani Thiessen while she dated Jamie Walters, Greg Vaughan, and Patrick Muldoon. Eventually, Tori began dating her co-star Vincent Young while Brian became involved with Vanessa Marcil of General Hospital fame. She had joined the 90210 cast and they eventually became engaged. With the show being off the air for twenty-four years, the cast has had its ups and downs. Most recently, they lost Shannen Doherty to cancer and Luke Perry passed away in 2019. Now, Tori and Brian reunited on Brian’s Oldish Podcast to share why they were estranged for eighteen years.

According to Page Six, Tori Spelling started out by recounting the last conversation the duo had:
“I remember our last conversation and the last thing we said to each other before those 18 years. I was crying. I remember crying that we were going to lose touch because we were so close.”
She was devastated at the end of the series’ run because she knew he would not be around all of the time. However, Brian made it clear that he wanted to stay in touch with her. Unfortunately, Tori failed to hold up her part:
“I remember going by Vincent [Young]’s house to see you multiple days after we wrapped and trying to keep a connection going. But it got to the point where I just never got that from you.”
Then, she married Dean McDermott and Brian Austin Green still fell by the wayside:
“And then I remember being at the ‘90210’ DVD release party and you were married to Dean [McDermott] and I was with Megan [Fox] when we were still just dating — you guys got there and you never said hello to me once. I just kept missing you guys and then you were gone.”
Reconciling & Falling Back Together
Brian Austin Green admitted that he gave up. He felt that Tori Spelling did not care anymore and he had more than tried so what was he to do? Tori reflected back on her romance with Vincent Young and how she was lost in it:
“It was a complicated relationship. On my part, I lost myself in that relationship again as I had done previously in relationships. That relationship was not a good relationship for me and toward the end I got wrapped up and things weren’t good.”
Moreover, it was hard for her because she knew Brian did not care for Vincent and Tori together. She also was not that into Vanessa Marcil so it was reciprocal. Now, they are back to where they once were and chat all of the time. It was important for Brian to keep Tori in his life because she was like family.
Do you think that Tori gets so lost in relationships that she forgets who and what really matters? In the end, do you hope she has learned not to let those closest to her go? Let us know in the comments below.
