‘Good Morning America’ Fans Beg For New Anchors

Robin Roberts on Good Morning America

Good Morning America fans have had a taste of what it is like to have new anchors this week. Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan were all missing from the broadcast earlier this week. As it turns out, GMA viewers may prefer their replacements. Now, they are begging for new anchors on the morning show and are asking for one person in particular.

Sade Baderinwa Joins GMA

Viewers are sad to see Sade Baderinwa leave Good Morning America and go back to her regular job. She served as a guest host for two episodes on GMA this week. Her last appearance was on Tuesday, August 27.

Last Friday, GMA announced that Sade would be joining Gio Benitez and Whit Johnson at the broadcasting desk on Monday and Tuesday. The three anchors replaced fan-favorite hosts Michael Strahan, Robin Roberts, and George Stephanopoulos.

Surprisingly, fans are sad to see the Eyewitness News anchor leave. Her debut on Good Morning America was a success and now viewers are pushing producers to give her a full-time spot on the morning show.

Fans took to social media to express their excitement about seeing Sade on GMA. One user wrote, “So happy to see Sade Baderinwa on GMA [heart emojis].” Another fan chimed in, “Sade Baderinwa is on GMA this morning, so happy for her.”

A third viewer begged to see more of Sade on the morning show, saying, “As a lifelong New Yorker, I’m not alone in saying more Sade please. Gio too.”

“Love waking up to see Sade Baderinwa on GMA,” a fourth fan commented. “Her smiling face makes me miss living in NYC!!!”

Good Morning America Fans Love Sade

Sade has appeared on ABC’s New York City affiliate WABC-TV since 2003. She has become well-known among New Yorkers. Right now, she co-hosts Eyewitness News at both 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. alongside Bill Ritter. The GMA hopeful has also won a Daytime Emmy for her work on Eyewitness News.

Whit Johnson opened up Monday morning’s episode of Good Morning America saying, “Good morning America, so great to have you with us. And great to be here with Gio and WABC’s Sade Baderinwa.”

She continued, “Our powerhouse station here, trading the late nights for the early mornings today.”

The WABC co-host had two cups of coffee in front of her and joked, “It’s very, very early. I’ve got my coffee here, ready to go.”

Viewers also noticed a rather funny habit of Sade’s that she brought to the morning show. She wished everyone a good night when she signed off from the show. “Did I hear a tiny…good night! at the signoff,” one viewer questioned on X. “Ha! It must be so automatic!! You were a gem!”

The WABC reporter replied, “Yes, you were right. I said good night. Old habits die hard. From night time to early mornings. I’ll be sure not to say that tomorrow.”

Good Morning America fans are sad to see Sade go and many of them are rooting for her to become a permanent member of the GMA team.
