‘DWTS’ Alfonso Ribeiro Flaunts Massive Weight Loss
Dancing With The Stars Season 33 is nearly here and the cast members are ready to groove back into the ballroom. Show host Alfonso Ribeiro is happier than ever to be back on the stage. And he’s been working on himself during the off-season too.
Alfonso Ribeiro Is Looking Forward To DWTS This Fall
Before winning DWTS Season 19 with Witney Carson, actor Alfonso Ribeiro was a long-term fan of the show. He hasn’t been a host for very long, but it’s clear he adores his role. On occasion, he engages in choreography with the rest of the cast.

The Fresh Prince actor is ready to be back in the ballroom and lost 20 lbs ahead of the season premiere.
“I know that it’s going to be a tight season and we are gonna have some fun. It’s gonna be great and the dancing will be better than ever,” the 52-year-old shared with PEOPLE. “And I’ve lost 20 pounds, so now I’m like, ‘Oh, I think I might look a little better when they ask me to do some of the little dances in the opening numbers.’ So you know, I am ready to rock,” he says.
Alfonso Ribeiro and his family are passionate about healthy eating. It all stemmed from a health issue when one of his sons was a baby.
“He had a health issue and we learned how to feed him,” the actor previously revealed on The Tamron Hall Show. “We live a completely non-toxic life where we don’t eat any sugar, gluten-free, corn-free, dairy-free, oats-free, anything that makes you swollen, we typically stay away from.”
The Entertainer’s Rigorous Schedule Keeps Him Moving
Alfonso Ribeiro and his family might prefer healthy eating, but the actor’s busy schedule also likely has a lot to do with his recent weight loss. In addition to Dancing With The Stars, Alfonso also hosts America’s Funniest Home Videos which premieres in late September.
“It is a lot of work to do two shows at once. But you know, they are two shows that I absolutely adore and love, and couldn’t be more proud to be a part of,” the entertainer continued.

But when it comes to specifics about the DWTS Season 33 cast, he played a bit more coy.
“They are putting together all the names and things are getting close,” Alfonso teased in the interview. “I am excited to see who we’ve got this year. I’m sure, obviously, with an Olympic year, I’m hoping we have a few Olympians, and it should be a fantastic season.”
