The new puzzle board for Wheel Of Fortune was leaked. After getting a look at the big change for Season 42, fans are divided. While some people enjoy the new look, others aren’t impressed. Keep reading to see the new puzzle board for yourself.

Fans Aren’t In Love With The New Puzzle Board

There are a lot of changes coming for Wheel Of Fortune in the coming season. Pat Sajak retired from the beloved game show, making room for the new host, Ryan Seacrest.

Although Vanna White is sticking around for a while longer, the puzzle board she presents is changing too. In a recent post on Instagram, fans got a glimpse at the new puzzle board.

The post shared some behind-the-scenes footage of Ryan and Vanna filming a new episode. One shot gave viewers a look at the puzzle board at the beginning of the clip.

Many people remember the board that was featured during much of Pat Sajak’s tenure. It had a black backdrop and was lit up with blue lights. However, the new puzzle board is framed in gold and has green background accents.

Snapshots of the new board made their way to X. Fans took to the comment section to give their opinions on the new look.

One Wheel Of Fortune viewer commented, “It’s certainly… interesting, to say the least.” A second person chimed in, “I miss the old one with Pat nothing to me will replace the original host.” A third called the board “absolutely disgusting.”

“Luckily the 2003 set pieces are STILL in the storage room! Same with the 52 screens of the puzzleboard!” the person added.

Not all of the feedback was negative though. One Wheel Of Fortune fan said they “love” the new puzzle board. Another commented on how the board looks like a “mashup” between some vintage Wheel puzzle boards. “Judging by this and the previously leaked video, the new border looks like a mashup between the 70s and 80s ones,” they commented.

More Wheel Of Fortune Changes For Season 42

Vanna White has talked about how the puzzle board has changed over the years. She spoke with Wheel of Fortune Social Correspondent Maggie Sajak last year and explained that she had to manually turn the letters when she first started on the game show.

After that, the board switched to TV monitors. Vanna would touch the side of the screens to reveal the letters. In Season 40, she no longer had to touch the screen because they started using lasers. Vanna simply had to put her hand near it.

The puzzle board isn’t the only thing that got a facelift for the upcoming season either. Another post showed Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White posing for a photo with George Pennacchio, an entertainment reporter.

They stood in front of the wheel for their picture, but people noticed the background looked different. There were fluorescent colors rather than the traditional primary color scheme from past seasons.

Don’t worry though. The old Wheel Of Fortune puzzle board isn’t sitting in a dumpster somewhere. It is on display in The Smithsonian.

Season 42 of Wheel Of Fortune will premiere in September.
