Whitney Way Thore An Injury Away From ‘My 600-Lb Life’?

Is Whitney Way Thore An Injury Away From My 600-Lb Life?
Recently on Reddit, My Big Fat Fabulous Life viewers started a conversation about Whitney Way Thore. Some of them fear that she is dangerously close to being a story like someone on My 600-Lb Life. First, a user says, “Whitney tries to laugh off that she keeps falling and hurting herself but that is actually a sign that her weight is becoming a major issue especially now that she’s reaching 40. She has all the resources in the world but refuses to do anything about it and it’s so obvious she is trying to redo Glenn‘s house so SHE can move in.”
- Additionally, another fan adds, “I feel like there have been quite a few My 600 Lb Life Episodes with bedbound participants where it started with an injury. Life changing accidents can happen to the healthiest people (car accidents, slip and falls, etc.) She needs to realize how lucky she has been so far and reasses her life. She was doing the same level of exercise in the gym as her elderly retired father…”
- “Exactly. She’s been very lucky especially when she pulls stunts like that ski and waterfall episode where she could have injured herself and others.”
She Seems To Scarily Fit The Bill
While everyone is at risk of being “just one injury” away from a drastic life change like people on My 600-Lb Life, Whitney Way Thore has many common factors with some of the stories on the show. One viewer lays out several scenarios:
“I hadn’t thought of this, but it’s scary. She definitely does have some of the markers of the 600 pounders. Most of their stories go like this:
‘There was some sort of instability in the home when I was a child.’ Thankfully she didn’t suffer sexual abuse or anything like that, but Babs went through a lot of mental struggles, and I believe drinking and smoking, and Glenn struggled to keep everything normal for the kids.
‘Something kept my parents from providing nutritious food, like working all the time or being negligent.’ Because of said mental struggles, the family didn’t eat regular meals, and many of Glenn’s habits were also questionable.
‘I got pregnant at a young age.’ Thankfully Whitney avoided this one.
‘When I went to college, I went crazy with eating and ballooned up.’ Yepppp.
‘I had an activity I loved, but once I came of age, I stopped, which contributed to my weight problem.’ Whitney and dance, BGDC not withstanding.
‘I had basically a nonstarter job, but my lifestyle made the job impossible by the time I was 30.’ Checkkkkk.
You’re right, the next one is injury.”
Other Fans Show Concern
Although Whitney Way Thore seems to be losing weight, some fans are still concerned she needs to get help.
- “Agreed. I don’t promote ozempic but I almost feel she’s the exception. I would never shame her for doing it. She desperately needs help and her weight is a hazard.”
- “I wonder which lucky cast member would be chosen to give her her weekly shot?”
- Someone else responds, “Run, Todd! RUN!”
Fans are concerned for Whitney Way Thore – Reddit
- “It’s not meant to be taken temporarily. Obesity is a chronic disease, it needs to be treated like any other one, you’d be on a maintenance dose for life.”
- “She may have hypermobility. She also appears to have Lipedma. Both can go together.Hypermobility definitely makes one accident prone. Add in ADHD (which she has), and you are always falling!”
- Someone else speculates a different motive, “I hate to state the obvious, but…..her whole shtick is being big and fat and unapologetic. If she’s trim and fit, she loses her whole identity and her TLC paycheck.”
