Johnny Wactor Murder Suspects Reportedly Implicate Themselves
Authorities arrested four people suspected of killing General Hospital Johnny Wactor. Two men were charged with the murder of the actor. These charges came after four men were arrested in connection with his death. However, there was reportedly talk coming after the arrests that might convict them of the crimes.
Here is what we know about the men arrested for Johnny’s death.
Accused Men Implicate Themselves In ‘Jailhouse Discussions’
On Monday, prosecutors charged two men with murder in the death of General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor. While the police arrested four men, it seems that “jailhouse discussions” implicated the men actually charged with the murder. The other two men arrested received lesser charges in the death.
The man accused of shooting Wactor is named Robert Barceleau, 18. Johnny got off work after a bartending shift and was headed to his car with a co-worker when he saw some men around him. They were reportedly trying to get the car to steal its catalytic converter.
While Johnny reportedly didn’t do anything to stop them, one of the men still shot and killed the actor before running away. The police report indicates that Johnny came upon three men, and police identified them as part of the Florencia 13 gang.
After their arrests, the four men implicated themselves in the crime while in jail. They were recorded having conversations, according to law enforcement sources (via Los Angeles Times). Authorities and prosecutors are not discussing what was said publically as they prepare to try the case.
Who Are The Men Accused Of Killing Johnny Wactor?
Robert Barceleau, 18, is accused of being the man who actually shot Johnny Wactor and killed him. He has the nickname “Smallz” and is a member of the Florencia 13 gang. His fingerprints and those of Sergio Estrada and Leonel Gutierrez match those from the jack left at Johnny’s car after the shooting.
Estrada goes by the name “Prieto,” and Gutierrez goes by “Tripps.” Both men, 18, are also in the Florencia 13 gang. Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. George Gascón and interim LAPD Chief Dominic Choi said they served over 50 search warrants in the case. Witnesses then identified Gutierrez thanks to the “F” tattoo on his face.
Police arrested all three men last Thursday. The police then arrested a fourth man, 22-year-old Frank Olano, as an accessory to murder.
Prosecutors charged Robert Barceleau with special circumstances murder during an attempted robbery with personal use of a firearm, attempted robbery, grand theft, and aggravated circumstances of using a firearm. If convicted, he faces life without parole.
Prosecutors charged Sergio Estrada with murder with the use of a firearm, attempted robbery, and grand theft with a firearm. This is another life sentence if found guilty, although he has the chance of parole in the future.
Prosecutors charged Leonel Gutierrez with attempted robbery and grand theft with allegations of a principal armed with a firearm. Finally, Prosecutors charged Frank Olano with one count of accessory after the fact to murder, one count of receiving stolen property, and three counts of being a felon with a firearm.
