‘Live’ Kelly Ripa Reunites With Old Co-Host, Becomes Legend
Live With Kelly And Mark host, Kelly Ripa reunites with her old co-host to make new memories. While the reunion was beautiful on its own, Kelly simultaneously became a legend.
Kelly Ripa Is MIA
On Monday, August 12, Kelly Ripa was missing from Live With Kelly And Mark. Instead, Maria Menounos sat in and hosted alongside Mark Consuelos. However, Kelly was back on Tuesday after being out for several days. While she took a little leave, she came back with a huge smile after acquiring “Legend” status.
Kelly Ripa Reunites With Old Co-Host And Becomes A Legend
Although America missed seeing Kelly Ripa on Live With Kelly And Mark, many caught the co-host in a sweet reunion on Sunday, August 11. She attended the Disney Legend event in Anaheim, CA. During the award ceremony for people of significance in the company for 2023, Kelly took the stage with old co-host, Ryan Seacrest. Endearingly, Ryan presented Kelly with the honor of becoming a Disney Legend. Kelly says, “Thank you so much, and Ryan, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m just so glad that you finally found something else to host.” Undeniably, she is joking about the D3 event as well as Ryan’s newest gig as the Wheel Of Fortune host and his even newer announcement of taking on Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune. The popular guy can’t stay away from the spotlight.
Accepting Legend Status Can Be Difficult
Graciously, Live host, Kelly Ripa begins her acceptance speech after poking fun at Ryan Seacrest’s long list of career hosting. She says, “This feels surreal for me, and I wanna thank Bob Iger for this truly magical experience.” Further adding, “I’ve known Bob for incidentally 35 years, and he has not aged a day.” Asking for the secrets, she jokes, “So I just want to know what ride that is.” Undoubtedly, Kelly is honored to accept the achievement. However, she can’t help but laugh, saying, “I know what you’re thinking. Why her? What has she ever done? She doesn’t even go here.” Continuing, “But to you, I say, you sound just like my family.”
But her long history with the company started with All My Children and she is forever grateful for that experience that led to her and Mark Consuelos’ marriage. She even jokes, that she and her “smoking hot husband” made their kids “right backstage in the Disney labs.” But she truly is thankful for the Walt Disney Company and the path she has taken in her career. Likewise, she reminisced about going to Disney World with her dad.
She Stands Among Other Greats
Disney Legends is the highest honor the company offers. Ryan Seacrest says it is the “highest honor the Walt Disney Company can bestow.” Likewise, he mentions the award is for creative people who have “pushed the envelope of creativity, challenged conventional wisdom, and broken the restraints of the status quo in search of new possibilities and excellence.” Along with Kelly Ripa, other legends at D23 were Miley Cyrus, Angela Bassett, Colleen Atwood, Martha Blanding, James L. Brooks, James Cameron, Jamie Lee Curtis, Steve Ditko, Harrison Ford, Mark Henn, Frank Oz, Joe Rohde, and John Williams.
