Many professional dancers take off a season or two after having a baby. They want time to focus on their families and give their bodies time to rest and recover. But Peta seems to have different plans for the fall.
Recently, she opened up about the possibility of joining the fall season.
Peta Murgatroyd Had An Incredibly Busy Year
As Dancing With The Stars fans know, Peta Murgatroyd and her husband Maks Chmerkovskiy welcomed their third son this year. Now, the couple has three little boys at home — which can be quite the handful.
“I know people have mentioned that it would be difficult for her to come back with three young children, but honestly, Peta seems all for it, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she comes back for Season 33 next month,” one Redditor shared online. “BUT If Peta does come back, AND it looks like Witney is coming back too, then I’m a little worried about Koko…”
While many DWTS fans said they would like to see Peta compete this year, many expressed concern about her health. Giving birth can take quite a toll on the body. Immediately heading back to the rehearsal room might be pushing her past her limits.
“Am I the only one concerned that she’s not allowing her body to heal in the time it needs to heal? I think it’s one thing to FEEL okay and THINK we’re okay… and it’s another thing to acknowledge what our bodies have gone through after back to back babies…” one Reddit user wrote in the comments.
The Australian Dancer Talks About Her Return To The Stage
In a recent “ask me anything” session with fans, Peta addressed the very topic.
On her Instagram stories, Peta confirmed that DWTS execs haven’t invited the pro dancers back yet. However, she expected they would be calling around the last week of August if they chose to invite her back.
The Australian dancer confirmed she would love to return if they invited her, even though she just gave birth in June.
But if anyone can make it work, it’s Peta. She added that this would be the third time she returned to the ballroom just after having a baby. However, this would also be the shortest turnaround time. It’s a challenge, but she believes she can handle it.
