Kanye West’s Shocking Reason For Antisemitic Tweet
Kanye West is often synonymous with controversy when it comes to the way he stirs the pot. Recently, he opened up about the reason why he sent out an Antisemitic tweet back in 2022. So, what did he have to say about the events leading up to it?
Kanye West Is As Controversial As They Come
There are few names in the world today that inspire admiration, envy, and hate, depending on who you ask. When speaking of Kanye West, he is exactly this sort of polarizing figure. People either love him or hate him, and there is very little in between.
No matter where Kanye goes or what he does, he is that eccentric type of personality who never backs down from stirring the pot. Since becoming a father, his edge has softened a little compared to years ago. However, there’s no question that controversy continues to follow him wherever he goes.
West Was In Hot Water Over Antisemitic Tweet
You can throw a dart blindfolded at any of Kanye West’s actions over the last two decades and easily find controversy worth talking about. One such instance was back in 2022 when Kanye shared a controversial tweet on Twitter (now X).
In the controversial tweet in question (which has since been deleted), Kanye said: “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”
The rapper did not stop there, adding: “The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
As a result of this one tweet alone, West lost endorsement deals. This also led to platforms restricting his social media accounts, with much of his controversial content removed. X took his account down as well.
While Kanye is known for stirring the pot and bringing the shock factor, even for him, there are some bears one should not poke.
Kanye West Opens Up About What Led To Controversial Moment
In a recent interview, Kanye West opened up about that controversial tweet, as well as what state of mind he was in prior to sending it out for the world to see. According to the rapper and business mogul, he was “drinking” the night he sent out that tweet.
West went on to add that “the demons” come out when he drinks Hennessy. Of course, most people in their lives have sent out a text (or several) when they have had one too many. On the smaller scale for people not in the spotlight, this typically results in minor embarrassment.
However, when you’re someone in the spotlight like Kanye West, one slip like that can literally cost someone millions or even billions.
As for Kanye, he said he did not want to come forward sooner about his drinking at the time that he sent the controversial tweet out because he still stands by what he said. According to him, drunk or not, what he said was his “truth.”
