Clay’s Son Has American Idol ‘In His Veins’

Earlier this year, Clay Aiken spoke to People about his son and the possibility of him choosing a music career. Although he said that Parker sings all the time, it isn’t something he wants to pursue. He has other interests.

Clay said of his son, “He’s chosen a different path. He has something else he wants to do with his life. And I’m excited for him.”

That said, Clay Aiken’s son still has several major connections in the music industry. Clay said that Idol is “in his veins.” His uncle David is a music producer, Aunt Katharine is a fellow American Idol alum, and his friend Ruben Studdard also made his mark on Idol. Each of them has been there for Parker throughout his life so far.

However, if his 15-year-old son changed his mind and wanted to sign up for American Idol today, Clay Aiken said he’d support him 100%. “I mean, I think that’s what you’re supposed to do is support whatever they want to do,” he said.

Celebrity Family Feud airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
