Why ‘Mama June’ Fans Say These 2 Daughters Are Just Like Her
Mama June fans have been shocked to watch the actions of June’s daughters recently. Both Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird have started acting more and more like their mom. Fans Say Alana & Lauryn Are ‘Acting Like Idiots’
One Reddit user posted to the online forum pointing out the similarities between Pumpkin, Honey Boo, and Mama June. They wrote, “Sad seeing Pumpkin and Lana becoming more like June. I’m glad Anna and Jessica on the other hand are/were more normal.”
The Reddit user continued, stating that Alana and Lauryn are “acting like idiots and not making smart decisions in their lives.” In contrast, Anna Cardwell managed to live a fairly normal life before being diagnosed with cancer. She worked at a Toyota dealership and was a good mother. Jessica is also attempting to lead a good life. She is graduating college and has a nice girlfriend, the Reddit user pointed out.
They continued, “I really hope Alana wakes up and makes smarter choices in the near future, but I do not think Lauryn is ever going to change. Very sad.”
Are Pumpkin & Honey Boo Boo Just Like Mama June?
This change in Pumpkin and Alana came more recently. Several people on Reddit suggested that Anna Cardwell was “the glue that held the Shannon family together.” After her death, things started to fall apart.
Pumpkin had an extremely difficult time dealing with Anna’s death. On top of dealing with that grief, she is now going through a divorce from her husband, Josh Efird.
“Pumpkin is probably spiraling with this entire divorce thing,” one person wrote. “I hope we don’t have another ‘Family Crisis’ anytime soon.”
Other people on the online forum believed that Pumpkin could potentially just be doing this for the television show. “Part of me thinks this could be them just doing it for the show. I know that sounds crazy but plenty of people have [filed] for divorce and then not followed through,” one person suggested. It’s not unheard of, especially where June Shannon and her family are concerned.
When it comes to Alana Thompson, fans think she is turning about to be like Mama June too. When Alana was a minor she was permitted to move out of the house. She’s now living with and dating a convicted criminal. One person pointed out that Alana’s boyfriend basically freeloads off of her and she supports him, similar to what June has done time and time again.
Any time Mama June does anything wrong though, Honey Boo Boo and Pumpkin are the first two to call her out. “I find it funny how Pumpkin/Alana are the first to trash June, but they’re the two who are currently repeating the same stupid mistakes when it comes to their personal relationships with men,” one fan commented. “Talk about being a hypocrite.”
