New ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff Lands Kurt Russell, More In Starring Roles?

Yellowstone: Kurt Russell

The Yellowstone machine continues to plug away, as each new entry adds another layer to Taylor Sheridan’s universe. Based on the latest reports, a new spinoff is close to landing Kurt Russell and more in starring roles. So, what do we know so far?

Yellowstone: Original Franchise Soon Coming To A Close

Taking into account all of the delays, contract disputes, and lead actor Kevin Costner leaving Yellowstone right at the finish line, the second half of the fifth and final season of the show that started it all will soon premiere on Paramount Plus.

Season 5B of Yellowstone officially premieres in November. So, despite all the setbacks and hurdles, the original show that kicked it all off will finally get its much-anticipated conclusion.

World-building and setting up different universes has become all the rage with television lately, and it just so happens that Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe lends itself perfectly to this, especially with all of the different generations of the Dutton family.

New Yellowstone Spinoff Finalizing Deals With Kurt Russell And More

Arguably the only other actor out there who is on equal footing when it comes to Kevin Costner and Westerns is Kurt Russell. Russell played Wyatt Earp in the cult classic, Tombstone.

All these years later, he is still at his best when you give him a cowboy hat, a revolver, and a badge. A perfect example of this was his recent turn in the bone-chilling Western, Bone Tomahawk.

Fans who love Kurt Russell in this capacity are in luck, as deals are finalizing to feature Russell, Michelle Pfeiffer, and more in a new spinoff expanding the Yellowstone universe.

Everything We Know So Far About Upcoming Spinoff

Previously, this new spinoff was called 2024, but now, it is tentatively titled, The Madison. It follows a wealthy matriarch as she leaves New York with her family and heads to Montana. This is following tragic deaths in the family via a plane crash.

Production on the new spinoff is set to begin later in July in Montana, New York, and Texas. If everything goes according to schedule, this new entry into the Yellowstone universe should premiere at some point in 2025.
