Dance Moms: A New Era is an upcoming revival of the Lifetime reality series, Dance Moms. Viewers remember coach Abby Lee Miller screaming at the girls and pitting them against each other.

Overall, it wasn’t a great situation for the young dancers. But week after week, fans tuned in.

There will be a new coach in charge when the reboot premieres. But former Dance Moms castmate JoJo Siwa thinks it’s a massive mistake to replace Abby.

JoJo Siwa Wants Abby Lee Miller In The Dance Moms Reboot

Although JoJo Siwa wasn’t part of the original Dance Moms cast, she did go on to star in two seasons of the show. She’s excited to see where the show goes from here, but she does have some reservations.

“I’m happy for them,” JoJo shared with Us Weekly, adding that she will be watching. “I think any kids that get a platform like this have a chance to truly change the world and make their stamp and I’m very happy for them.”

However, she doesn’t agree with the decision to replace Abby Lee Miller.

“It makes me, quite honestly, a little sick to my stomach to see them try to replace Abby,” the 21-year-old continued. “Even though Abby says the quote, ‘Everyone’s replaceable,’ Abby Lee is not replaceable. The only person that is not replaceable is the inventor of that quote.”

Gloria “Glo” Hampton takes over Miller’s role in the new series. She’s previously stated that her approach is much different than Miller’s. For example, Hampton refuses to scream at the girls to get results.

But according to JoJo Siwa, that’s exactly what the original Dance Moms needed.

“I think that [Dance Moms: A New Era] would have a lot more success if Glo was Glo, not if Glo was Abby,” JoJo added. “I think, realistically, Glo would not do a pyramid. She would not say, ‘There’s six weeks ’till nationals.’ She would not use the exact Abby lingo.”

JoJo Siwa Adores Her Former Dance Teacher

While the other girls from Dance Moms seem to keep their distance from Abby Lee Miller, JoJo embraces her.

“It’s tough when you see someone trying to be somebody that you really love and care about. And I really love and care about Abby and [her assistant] Gia,” the “Karma” singer shared. “I think the show will have a lot more success if they tried to be more original versus trying to copy Abby. ‘Cause you can’t.”

It’s not immediately clear what the new Dance Moms series will look like, but many fans are excited to see what’s in store for the new group of dancers. Dance Moms: A New Era premieres on Hulu starting August 7. Will you tune in? Share your thoughts in the comments.
