All My Children Star Esta TerBlanche Dies Suddenly At 51
Esta TerBlanche was a South African beauty who won the soap world over when she joined the now-defunct All My Children. She came on in 1997 as troublemaking princess, Gillian Andrassy. Esta was there for four years, through 2001 when her character was killed off. This happened as she asked to be written out of the popular sudser.
Though she continued to act in both South African films and movies, she returned to America. Esta shared she was on hiatus from her craft. Things had shifted in Esta’s life as she had divorced her husband of over a decade, Andre Kock, and was working on healing herself. More so, she had opened a spa so she was in a very transformative period of her life. Esta did come back to All My Children toward the end of its run in 2011 for a brief appearance as she loved it so much.
Sadly, TMZ reported that Esta had suddenly passed away on Thursday, July 18th, 2024. Her beloved goddaughter, Barbie Ashley shared the news. Unfortunately, it appears that she may have been deceased for a handful of days before being found in her North Hollywood home. She leaves behind her ex-husband and Barbie as well as a plethora of adoring fans and co-workers.

Fans loved looking at her content and were so happy she had a fun and light Instagram. Unfortunately, it became a memorial of sadness after the news broke.
Her goddaughter shared her sadness immediately:

Could She Have Been Back On Soaps?
With Cameron Mathison now on General Hospital, would that have opened a door for Esta TerBlanche to pop in? Anything is possible as the show is filled with crossovers. More so, she stated that All My Children was the best time of her life. So, given the chance, fans would have loved to see the crossover, even for a brief time.
