Kim Zolciak Cozies Up With New Man, Gains ‘Clarity’ In Divorce
Kim Zolciak has opened up about her relationship with Chet Hanks. The pair were seen cozying up next to each other in bed in the trailer for Surreal Life: Villa Of Secrets. The Real Housewives alum says it brought her clarity amid her divorce from Kroy Biermann.
Kim Zolciak Had No Idea Who Chet Hanks Was
The trailer for the upcoming season of Surreal Life: Villa Of Secrets has sent fans reeling. RHOA star Kim Zolciak was seen in bed with another man, and people are wondering if it had anything to do with the real reason she’s splitting up with her husband Kroy.
Kim told People that she wasn’t sure of what she should expect before appearing on the show. However, she knew that it would be good for her to get out of the house.
When she first met the group on Surreal Life, Kim said that she had no idea who Chet Hanks was. Chet is the son of renowned actor Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.
“I had to call Brielle [Biermann] and ask who Chet was,” Kim laughed. “She’s like, ‘Mom, there’s only one Chet in the world.’ I’m like, ‘Chet who?’ She’s like, ‘Hanks.’”
After she got to know Chet, Kim Zolciak said that they had a connection. Of course, with only eight people in the group on the show, everyone got to know each other very well in the 14 days they were filming together.
“We’re all friends, friends for life, for sure,” she said of the cast. “We had a really great experience. All of us. From what I hear from every single person, they all loved it just as much as I did.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum said that she forgot she was being filmed at times. She was filmed 24/7 for two weeks straight and Kim admits she isn’t 100% certain what the cameras caught during that time. However, when it comes down to what happened between Chet and Kim, she says that people will just have to “wait and see.”
“I’m sure I said things that maybe I didn’t want them to hear,” Kim said about being filmed all day for two weeks. “Who knows what really went down?”
Surreal Life Provided Kim With Some Clarity & Focus
That being said, Kim and Chet are still in contact. “Chet’s a great guy,” the Bravo star said. “I mean, he’s adorable. We’ve had a lot of incredible moments throughout the season that you’ll see. We’ve had some deep conversations and he’s great.”
When it comes to how she’s handling life, Kim Zolciak said that she has allowed herself to be more vulnerable.
“I needed some time away from the actual house to gain some clarity going through this divorce and kind of focused more back on Kim,” the RHOA alum said.

“There’s a lot that’s gone on in my life in the last year and a half that people have the completely wrong perception of and that’s because I just, out of respect for my children, just don’t talk. I don’t talk,” she said, before adding that she thinks people will be surprised to learn about what she’s been going through.
Surreal Life: Villa Of Secrets makes its debut on MTV on Tuesday, July 23 at 9 p.m. EST.
