‘AGT’ Simon Cowell Grossed Out By Creepy Audition

America’s Got Talent Is So Much More Than A Singing Competition
Reality singing competitions are a dime a dozen these days. Luckily for audiences, that’s where a show like America’s Got Talent comes in. The show accepts a wide age range of people across the entire talent spectrum, going far beyond just having a good singing voice.
Even though there have already been more than a few outstanding voices during the audition phase of this new season, there have also been several acts looking to strike gold with a talent that is unique or even unexpected. This certainly keeps America’s Got Talent fresh, and it also keeps both the judges and the viewers on their toes.
AGT: Simon Cowell Unhinged By Scary Audition
Forest of Haunts brought a horror film to life during their recent America’s Got Talent audition. They even managed to pull off more than one jump scare on the judges live on stage. One female figure looked like an undead entity, while the partner in crime wore a creepy mask.
Right out of the gate, before they even did anything, the makeup and the acting jobs were on point from both. So much so that when they brought Simon Cowell and Sofia Vergara on stage for their interactive segment, it took everything Simon Cowell had not to stop the audition short, as his skin was clearly crawling.
America’s Got Talent: Forest Of Haunts Pulls Off Surprising Win
Forest of Haunts got Sofia Vergara blindfolded on stage. They told Simon Cowell to pick one of four balloons to hold onto, as each of the others was popped over Vergara’s head. Later, they popped the last balloon that Simon held onto over the judges’ table.
To everyone’s shock and horror, that last balloon was full of maggots. If Simon had chosen wrong, that would have been all over Sofia Vergara’s head. This initially upsetting audition made some judges reject this act. However, despite the creepy nature of this audition, Simon Cowell called it “brilliant,” and Sofia broke the tie to send this horror act into the next phase of the competition.
The one thing that this act did was keep an entire audience holding their breath. To do this with only some convincing acting and a few props is truly a talent. So, it will certainly be interesting to see what other macabre scenarios they have up their sleeves moving forward.
