‘Days Of Our Lives’ Taps Hallmark Star To Play Xander’s Mother
Days of Our Lives is finally expanding Xander Cook’s family. Viewers are about to meet his much-talked-about estranged mother. And an established actress known for her Hallmark movies will play the role. Keep reading for all the details.
Xander’s Mother Comes To Town
Paul Telfer has played Xander Cook on Days of Our Lives since 2015. Xander is the nephew of Victor Kiriakis (played by the late John Aniston.) His backstory revealed that he grew up in Scotland with his mother, Fiona. However, the character of his mother has remained off-screen until now.
Xander has been at the center of several storylines over the years. The character even spent a stint in prison with baddies Clyde Weston and Orpheus. After years of being involved in schemes with Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Theresa (Emily O’Brien,) to name a few, Xander seemingly turned over a new leaf thanks to Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey.)
In fact, Xander and Sarah are about to have a double wedding with Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Theresa. Perfect time for his estranged mother to come to town, don’t you think, soap fans?
Hallmark Star Joins Days of Our Lives
Fiona Cook might be in Salem for more than just her son’s wedding. Rumor has it that Xander is about to find out that he’s actually Victor’s son, not his nephew. Actor Wally Kurth recently revealed that Alex’s true paternity is also about to come out. When casting such a pivotal role, soap fans hope for someone with an extensive resume and a familiar name.
The Peacock soap has tapped Serena Scott Thomas to play Xander’s mother. The actress has appeared in several movies on the Hallmark Channel. She is also the sister of actress Kristin Scott Thomas, known for her roles in The Horse Whisperer, Mission: Impossible and more.
She also had a role on NCIS in 2007. Serena Scott Thomas is up for the challenge of playing Fiona Cook. After all, she once played Princess Diana in the TV movie Diana: Her True Story.
