Jon Gosselin’s Shocking TLC Advice For Alec Baldwin

Jon Gosselin from ET interview on YouTube

If anyone knows how much reality television can take a toll on a person’s life, it’s Jon Gosselin. After an incredibly publicized messy divorce and years of custody fights, the former TLC star has plenty of regrets over signing a contract with TLC. And that’s exactly why he wants to prevent Alec and Hilaria Baldwin from making the same mistakes.

The Baldwins will premiere on TLC sometime in 2025, but Jon Gosselin thinks the family should run while they still can.

Jon Gosselin Begs The Baldwins To Reconsider Their Plans

Although Jon Gosselin is in a much healthier place today, it took many years to get to that point. And that’s why he wants the Baldwins to think twice about their new reality show.

“I’d say, ‘Don’t do it. Only because you’ve already made it,’” the former TLC star told ET about what advice he would give to Alec Baldwin. “You’re, like, an amazing, like, award-winning actor.”

“I did it for the money in the beginning ’cause I didn’t know how I was gonna support my family […] I sometimes have regrets because they [the kids] didn’t sign a contract, I signed the contract,” Jon continued, sharing his personal problems with reality television.

“Just make sure your kids are okay and happy. And that’s what they want to do, like, obviously it is their choice,” Jon’s daughter Hannah chimed in. “I would say like look out for your kids in that aspect, in that world. Because it’s a crazy world.”

The pair expressed concern because Alec Baldwin’s children are so young. The actor and his wife Hilaria are the parents of Carmen, 10, Rafael, 8, Leonardo, 7, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 3, Maria, 3, and Ilaria, 1. Baldwin also has a 27-year-old daughter, Ireland, from a previous relationship.

“Look at the nuclear fallout that happened [to our family],” Jon continued in the interview “I feel like it was more on the network side and being taken advantage of versus the decisions we made because we feel like they forced us into those decisions.”

The Public Also Feels Apprehensive About The New Show

It seems like the public largely agrees with Jon Gosselin’s sentiments. The Baldwins shared an Instagram post to promote the new show and it wasn’t so well-received.

Comments included:

  • Find me an adult who was on a reality show as a child and says it was good for their mental and physical health. Does not exist. Please don’t do this to your kids.”
  • Big mistake. Children should not be exposed like that 😮”
  • “I thought your peace and privacy was important? I’m confused with the 360.”
  • I truly hope this will end well for your children. You have always disliked the attention your kids get from the cameras on the street- this is about to multiply beyond imagination.”
