Shocking Truth Mayim Bialik Really Left ‘Jeopardy!’
When Jeopardy! let Mayim Bialik go, she seemed to take it hard. She posted that she appreciated the chance to host the show, but made it clear this wasn’t her choice. However, there are now rumors that not only was it her choice, but she almost forced the network to let her go.
Here is what people are saying about the real reason Mayim Bialik left Jeopardy!
Mayim Bialik Reportedly Made Demands To Jeopardy! Before Exit
When Mayim Bialik told fans Jeopardy! fired her from the show, she acted like she was surprised. She seemed slightly bitter and has since moved on. However, there is a source from the show who is now saying that the network let her go because she made a demand they wouldn’t agree to.
According to the source, Mayim Bialik was not interested in sharing the spotlight with Ken Jennings anymore. When Jeopardy! replaced Alex Trebek, they had one name picked out. When that fell apart, they decided to bring in two people and had Mayim and Ken both work as hosts, each taking sections of the schedule and rotating them.
This seemed to work out well since it meant that Mayim could still make her sitcom Call Me Kat while in her off-period for Jeopardy! However, this is supposedly not something she wanted to continue. The source said that Mayim demanded that Ken leave and that she should get the full-time hosting job (via U.S. Sun).
“The bottom line is that she wanted the sole hosting job and Sony wasn’t willing to give that to her, and she decided to walk away because of that,” the source said. They said it was a “dance of the egos” because she didn’t want to look bad, and Sony didn’t want to come off as bad either. The source said that was why Mayim jumped out with her announcement first, to paint the picture in her favor.
Mayim Bialik Finally Removed From YouTube Promos
Mayim Bialik has been gone from the show since last year. However, the YouTube videos all still ended with a promo with her and Ken Jennings together. The game show’s social media managers finally removed her from those promos and fans seemed very happy about it.
This also means she is finished for good, likely. With Pop Culture Jeopardy! coming to Prime Video, some fans thought she might be a good host. There is now way that happens at all now.
Are you surprised to hear that Mayim Bialik might have been demanding the network choose her or Ken Jennings to host the show? Does it surprise you that Ken is who the network chose? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
