‘Deadliest Catch’ Why Did Matt Bradley Switch To The Saga?
Deadliest Catch is in the start of its 20th season right now. The new season is seeing a lot of dangerous stuff, thanks partially to El Nino. There is also a new captain with her ship, and the return of other main players that fans have grown to love. However, one person some fans are confused about is Matt Bradley.
Bradley used to work on The Northwestern, but now he is on The Saga. Here is why Matt switched boats.
Why Did Matt Bradley Leave The Northwestern?
Matt Bradley was working on The Northwestern, and while he didn’t always get along with Jake Anderson. The two had a huge feud that actually resulted in a fight at one time. This all happened thanks to something that Matt said about his crewmate.
Matt was talking to a hydro guy, and he made a comment that Jake was slow. This pissed off Jake, who ended up punching Matt twice. Captain Edgar Hansen wouldn’t put up with it and said the person who threw the first punch was finished on this boat.
Jake claimed five years earlier that Matt choked him once, but Matt said that it happened 10 years ago. That led to Hansen saying that he had a deal for them. Whoever threw the next punch was fired. Five years later, Jake threw the next punch, and Hansen fired him. Jake then bought his own boat, The Saga, and moved on.
That then led to Matt eventually leaving as well. Matt had four daughters and he left the dangerous crab fishing job to run a vape shop he and his wife owned. Things soon changed again in 2020.
Why Is Matt Bradley On The Saga Now?
While Matt Bradley left to run the vape store with his wife, and to remain close to his daughters, things went south with that business. He said that things out of his control forced him to have to return to the Bering sea to make money for his family again.
Matt needed a job, and he ended up doing the unthinkable. He gor a job working for Jake Anderson on The Saga. Jake offered his old nemesis a job and Matt took it. While Matt and Jake had fought a lot in the past, he knew that Matt needed help and he was there to offer it.
“My vape shops were under attack from the state. The Northwestern had a full crew.. And at the last minute Jake had an open spot on the saga. Was actually really fun fishing with him,” Matt said (via Reality Tidbit).
