Matthew McConaughey headed to social media to post a brand-new photo of himself. However, when fans noticed the picture, they were horrified despite McConaughey smiling. The actor’s face was severely injured, and he looked almost disfigured.

In the photo, Matthew McConaughey smiled at the camera. However, his right eye was completely swollen and closed, and the side of his face was puffy. While he was smiling, it was clear something was seriously wrong with the actor. He stated what happened in the caption.

In the caption, he wrote, “bee swell.” It was a pun and a basic dad joke from the father of three. Of course, it was also what happened. A bee stung McConaughey in the face, and this swelling resulted from the incident. Fans swept into the comments to wish him well and make jokes, adding more puns from his movie career.

The bee sting was a downer on a week when his oldest son, Levi, turned 16, and McConaughey sent out a touching tribute to his boy as he prepares to move into the world beyond his parent’s protection.

With Levi turning 16, Matthew McConaughey sent his son a touching birthday greeting on social media, with a long written tribute. In this, he said he trusts his son to make the best decisions and wants him to remember always to be himself.

McConaughey, 54, wrote “Me and your mom hope we’ve done as good of a job as we can. You’re not gonna really have us as a safety net out there in the wonderful, wild world forever.” He then said he wants his son to enjoy himself but to be aware of his surroundings. “Know when to say yes, know when to say no, know when to say maybe,” he continued.

He also said that he should always see the good in everyone but also know that not everyone is paying attention. He finished by saying, “enjoy the journey.” McConaughey also has two other kids – his daughter, Vida, 14, and his second son, Livingston, 11.
