How Smart Are The Duggar Kids?
As reported by TV Shows Ace, Josiah and Lauren Duggar celebrated their second engagement anniversary. The couple created a sweet Instagram post celebrating their special day.
While fans gushed over the young couple and congratulated them, they were quick to notice an issue in the caption. A grammatical error has gotten both fans and critics questioning the Duggar kids’ education. This particular post was supposedly written by Josiah. But, other posts by other Duggar kids have been found with errors.
In the post, Josiah says, “I can’t believe it’s been two years ago.” The correct phrasing could be either, “I can’t believe it’s been two years,” or “I can’t believe it was two years ago.”

Typo or poor education?
On Reddit, critics of the family are talking about this grammatical error and pointing out that it’s not the first time they’ve seen something like this. On several of the Duggar kids’ social media posts, their followers have seen improper grammar.
Of course, not everyone cares to have flawless grammar and spelling on social media. Posts are typed from a smartphone and they’re done quickly. People often share posts without proofreading them. So, that could’ve happened to Josiah this time.
It’s also worth noting that the Duggar kids don’t go to college. So, they don’t have an advanced education. They were homeschooled through high school. Some of them did take a few online courses, but none of them have received degrees.
Who homeschools the Duggar kids?
Michelle Duggar has always homeschooled her kids. Jessa Seewald’s husband, Ben, helps Michelle out sometimes with specific subjects. The older kids have also helped the younger kids with their schoolwork.
Because she has homeschooled 19 kids, fans are wondering if Michelle has enough time to teach the kids everything they need to know. Granted, she hasn’t homeschooled all 19 at once due to the age gaps and kids moving out. But, the improper grammar in Josiah’s post has people wondering just how effective Michelle’s teaching is. Could the way she taught her kids influence their grammar skills today?
In addition to potential issues with grammar, CheatSheet mentions that the kids previously had trouble reading aloud. At the time, it seemed like they were not reading aloud at their grade level.
