‘Seeking Sister Wife’ Becky Ryan Child Of Huge Cult Leader
Seeking Sister Wife newcomer Becky Ryan has turned out to be the child of a huge cult leader. She addressed that she grew up in polygamy and the lifestyle was never frowned upon or strange to her. Yet, there is far more to her story than meets the eye. Keep reading for more details.

Becky and Justin Ryan did not appear to have all that much luck in Season 5 of Seeking Sister Wife. They were recently spotted by a fan on a polygamist date site. The couple had photos of themselves and really seemed to be searching for love. This is commonplace for Becky who revealed she grew up in polygamy and it was something she had grown accustomed to. Yet, there is one key factor that she may have left out. According to Starcasm, her stepfather was epic cult leader, Tony Alamo.
He was known to marry minors, not just teenagers but girls as young as the age of eight. Now, when Becky was telling her backstory, she shared this:
“Growing up in a polygamous household, to me, was never a negative. Being in high school and being married was actually kind of normal where I was.”
It even applied to her and Justin as she was 16 and he was 19 when they tied the knot. Becky also noted that it was not just them getting married young.
“Our church believed in polygamy as an option. My dad was the pastor of the church, and he studied the Bible a lot. He got other wives as he was finding all the scriptures that prove that it is OK to do.”
One thing that the Seeking Sister Wife star cited was that she did have less time with her dad as he had so many wives. At the same time, she confessed her mother was a “loner” and was not all that close with her sister wives. Based on the stories that have emerged, it makes a lot of sense.
Getting Involved
Becky Ryan’s family was involved in Tony Alamo’s organization and that was how her mother met him. She had been married to Becky’s father, David Kroopf but left him for Tony. This caused immense bitterness as David claimed that the now Seeking Sister Wife star was kept away from her father. More so, he maintained that she was kept captive, away from any outside influences. When Tony Alamo had his trial, Sharon alleged they were not legally married but she did use his last name.

Furthermore, she stated she knew there were underage girls in the home but did not think anything nefarious was happening. It is unclear if Justin’s family followed the word of Tony but there is an issue with Becky’s age. In one place, it says she was 16 when they wed but elsewhere, it states she was just 15. Finally, they are not using their actual last name so that may be for protective purposes.
