Luke Bryan Reacts To Meggie Iyer’s Idol Audition
Luke Bryan got a little wild on the season premiere of American Idol last night. He loved one audition and mae sure to show it to the world.
Luke Bryan’s Reaction To Meggie Iyer
Luke Bryan trashing the stage on American Idol was his reaction to Meggie Iyer’s audition. Meggie Iyer, who is only 18 years old, sang “I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bonnie Raitt. Her performance was stellar and the excitable “But I Got A Beer In My Hand” singer appeared to have lost control of himself.
What started out as a normal standing ovation turned into something much different. The country music superstar upset a stool. There was even a bottle of water spilled. It was all in good fun, though.
The Other American Idol Judges React
Katy Perry appeared to be frightened by the stage-trashing incident. Lionel Richie tried to make light of the situation. His comment was simply telling the “That’s My Kind Of Night” singer to “get a grip.”
Meggie Iyer slipped right into this melody. Simple delivery with good energy and a little cry in her voice. Love her sound. That falsetto riff blew me away and then she belted. Great way to show many facets of her voice. #AmericanIdol #IdolPremiere

American Idol Continued On As If Nothing Happened
As the saying goes “the show must go on.” That is exactly what happened. American Idol continued and the judges made their critiques of Meggie Iyer’s performance. Iyer, who appeared unphased by Luke Bryan’s behavior, listened intently to what Perry, Richie and Bryan had to say about her audition.
Meggie Iyer was given three yeses by the judges. That means she had earned a golden ticket. The golden ticket is her pass to perform during Hollywood week in California. That is the next step after auditions for the American Idol contestants as they work their way in becoming the winner of one of the largest talent competition shows on television.
American Idol Auditions Held In Luke Bryan’s Hometown
It is possible Bryan was just happy to be home. Perhaps Luke Bryan’s excitement also stemmed from the fact he was back in his hometown. The first round of auditions partially took place in Leesburg, Georgia where Bryan was born. Leesburg is about three hours straight south of Atlanta, the capital city of Georgia. Based on his behavior, it may be true “you can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the boy.”
Tell us what you think. Are you excited about the new season of American Idol? Did Katy Perry over-react by looking terrified? Did Iyer deserve the three yeses and the golden ticket to Hollywood? Share all of your thoughts in the comment section below.
