‘Swamp People’ Star Ronnie Adams Inducted Into Hall Of Fame
Ronnie Adams, the star of Swamp People on History Channel, was just inducted into a Hall of Fame. Not only that, but he did it in the style most fans would expect from the man known as Swamp Man. Here is a look at what Ronnie was honored for and how he showed up to the ceremony.
Swamp People’s Ronnie Adams inducted into a sports Hall of Fame
Most people now know Ronnie Adams for his role on Swamp People. He has been known as Swamp Man on the hit History Channel reality TV show, which is in its 15th season of broadcast. However, before Ronnie started hunting gators on the popular series, he was a sports star in college. His college has now honored him with an induction into the Jones College Sports Hall of Fame
.
Ronnie was one of six new inductees into the Hall of Fame. In the new inductee class were a baseball player, a soccer/track star, a softball star, a basketball player, a cheerleader, and Ronnie, who played football and competed for the track and field teams. When it comes to his college athletic career, Ronnie played for Jones College Bobcats from 1995 to 1996.
As anyone might expect from Swamp Man, even in college his roots showed through. He said that no one called him Ronnie and everyone just referred to him as “Cajun.” He said that was even the name listed on the football depth chart.
Ronnie Adams shows up in camo for Hall of Fame honor
In what should come as no surprise to Swamp People fans, Ronnie Adams showed up wearing a camo suit. A small look at the suit can be seen on the Jones College Bobcats official website.
He only played at Jones Collegee for one season before transferring to the University of Louisiana. While there, he was a two-year letter-winner in football. However, he was an offensive lineman on the football team. In what is no irony, the University of Louisiana is also known as the Rajun’ Cajuns, a perfect fit for the Swamp People star.
For the track team, he competed in the shootout and represented the college at the NJCAA Track and Field championships. While he wasn’t there for long, the college still wanted to honor him. Outside of sports, he also received the Medal of Heroism from the Sons of the American Revolution for rescuing people during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Ronnie also does a lot of work outside of his reality show as well. He donates time to the Special Olympics, Autism Awareness, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
