‘My 600-Lb. Life’ Amber Rachdi Shuts Down Weight Gain Rumors, Pic
Most people remember Amber Rachdi from her jaw-dropping transformation on My 600-Lb. Life. However, after not appearing on Instagram for several months, fans began to speculate whether or not Amber had gained the weight back. It’s not uncommon for former subjects on the show to gain a few pounds back after going through with weight loss surgery. After hearing these rumors, Amber Rachdi took to Instagram to set the record straight. Keep reading to see what she has to say.
Amber Rachdi Updates Instagram For The First Time In Nine Months
The last time Amber provided an update in the form of a selfie or otherwise on Instagram was about 37 weeks ago. Prior to that, her activity on the platform was spotty, at best. She only updated her page every 10 weeks or so.
Most of her content includes selfies, which has prompted people to gossip about her gaining the weight she lost back over the last few years. Occasionally, the former My 600-Lb. Life star will upload a full-body snapshot to shut down any rumors.

Her most recent update came yesterday. The photo showed a tired-looking Amber Rachdi in a mirror selfie. She wore a black wrap-around style dress with a sweater. The cut of the dress showed off Amber’s cleavage and clearly showcased her still-small waistline.
In the caption, Amber Rachdi wrote a few words to explain her absence and why people still likely won’t see much of her on social media.
“This isn’t a glamor shot. No editing, no false eyelashes, just me existing as a corporeal being,” she wrote. “It’s come to my attention that there’s a weird rumor making the rounds on Tiktok that I stopped posting on IG because I gained weight and am in hiding.”
Then Amber provided a few details on her personal life, stating that she’s been working a lot, she’s getting older, and that she doesn’t feel very attractive right now. Overall, she’s focused on other things outside of regularly updating her Instagram page.
What Is The My 600-Lb. Life Star Doing Now?
The former My 600-Lb. Life cast member shared some information about her current weight loss progress as well. “I did start a semaglutide injection, despite my conflicted feelings on the topic, and I lost a fair amount of weight,” Amber shared with her followers. “Isn’t doing anything to make me feel better about myself, save for the sudden reappearance of my ability to do pushups. That’s pretty cool, ngl.”

Amber Rachdi pointed out that it has been 10 years since she appeared on My 600-Lb. Life and she has not ever pursued a career as an influencer on social media. On the contrary, she has gone back to living her normal life. She works in IT and she pointed out in her post that times have been hard for everyone.
“Forgive my absences, most days I am just too tired to even think about ‘being a public figure,'” she wrote. “Let me rest. And also, as a human, I am indeed allowed to gain and lose weight in peace. Weird thing to gossip about, y’all. But please, talk all the s*** you want about my haircut, I was Velma for Halloween and like a fool, I cut my real hair.” She wrapped up the post with a peace sign emoji.
Fans swiftly took to the comment section to show their support for Amber. Many people talked about how great she looked, but most related to how she was feeling and what was going on in her life.
“People got to realize just because someone doesn’t feel the need to post all the time that doesn’t mean something is wrong. People have lives outside of social media. Btw you’re beautiful!” one follower wrote. Others chimed in that they “get it” and that the My 600-Lb. Life alum doesn’t owe anyone an explanation.
Either way, Amber Rachdi shut down any rumors about her gaining weight yet again.
