Kailyn Lowry tells Lindsie Chrisley she received a terrifying phone call last weekend. On Sunday, January 7th she received a phone call from the Department of Public Health. The phone call was to inform her that her son had been exposed to a dangerous virus.

The MTV star clarified Rio was in the hospital getting tubes implanted on December 29th. It, however, wasn’t until the 7th that she received the alarming phone call warning her of the exposure.

She Panic Spiraled After Receiving The News

The Teen Mom alum felt sick to her stomach with panic. She was told to isolate her son until January 19th. The problem with this information is her other children had already been around Rio by the time she got the phone call. So, protecting them from exposure was impossible.

I was like ‘What the f**k am I going to do? I have kids. He’s been with my other children.’ I start freaking out. I feel like, my mind starts playing games, ‘oh, he has these symptoms…'”

Kailyn Lowry admits her entire house spun into chaos as she had to pull her sons out of school. Likewise, she couldn’t have anyone come into the home to help her with her children.

Kailyn Lowry Says Things Got Worse

The situation took a terrifying turn for Kailyn Lowry when Rio started to develop symptoms of the virus. The MTV alum had to take Rio to a very specific hospital. He was placed in an isolation room to be tested. Finally, the test results came in.

“Doctor looks me dead in the face and says, ‘yeah, unfortunately, this does look like a positive case of XYZ.'”

Turns out, Kailyn Lowry got into the hospital staff because they had traced the virus exposure incorrectly. They were under the impression he was exposed to the virus in another state. She recalls getting frustrated over communication issues because she had to explain how he got exposed.

Kailyn Lowry was happy to report that Rio was now negative for the virus. Sadly, however, he still had to quarantine for another week. She concluded her story by noting it was an incredibly “rough” way to start the year.
