Sleuthers have some major new clues about the future of two of Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ fan-favorite mysteries including Hannah Swensen, and  The Curious Caterer. Here is the latest news.

Possible Hallmark Production News Should Interest Sleuthers

Now that the strikes are over, and the holiday season is over, a lot of productions are going into full swing. Although Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has three new mystery series premiering in January and February, the latest news has to do with two series that Sleuthers know.

According to Creative BC, a trade website about movies and television shows being filmed in the Vancouver area, there are two movies recently added that should be of interest to Sleuthers. The first is Curious Caterer: Sticks and Scones. The second is One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery.

Hallmark has not made an official announcement on either of these movies. Moreover, unforeseen circumstances could delay or cancel either one. But, right now, it looks like fans of these two series are going to get a new movie.

What does this site reveal about each mystery movie?

What Is Shared About Curious Caterer: Sticks And Scones?

Currently, it appears that Curious Caterer is returning with the mystery Sticks And Scones. The only information is that this movie is in production between 1/9/24 and 2/16/24. There is no information about the stars or director. Moreover, Andrew Walker is currently on a fan cruise with Kristoffer Polaha. He could not start production now.

Most Hallmark movies are filmed in 2 weeks. Therefore, it is likely that this movie will not start until the very beginning of February. The time in January is set up for scouting sites, and other production details. Therefore, Andrew is not missing out on filming.

Also, IMDb has more information. Firstly, Paul Ziller is directing. Moreover, Ziller had directed Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker in the last mystery, Fatal Vows. Next, the Fatal Vows screenwriters, Julie Kim and Kariné Marwood also wrote this movie. However, there is no cast information or any other details.

What Do We Know About Curious Caterer: Sticks And Scones?

Hallmark’s Curious Caterer mystery series is very loosely based on the Diane Mott Davidson mystery series of the same name. Moreover, there is even a book called Sticks & Scones. According to the book description, Goldy is booked to cook “authentic Elizabethan fare” at Hyde Castle. This castle is pretty special as it was brought from England, and rebuilt.

However, cooking there is no relaxing experience. She hears a shot and she finds a body near a creek. Next, someone “Goldy loves is in the line of fire.” While the book has her married to Tom, and her ex-husband abusive, the Hallmark series is certainly more wholesome and tame. The two screenwriters will certainly weave their magic and create a great mystery script.

What Do We Know About Hallmark’s One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery

Longtime Sleuthers have been watching Alison Sweeney play baker and sleuth Hannah Swensen since her Murder She Baked days. Therefore, these fans will be thrilled to see that a new movie is scheduled to start filming on January 17. Shannon Kohli, the Zest For Death director, is scheduled to also direct this movie.

However, nothing is known about the story of this movie. That is because there is no Joanne Fluke book called One Bad Apple that exists. Another big question is whether Cameron Mathison will be in this movie. He has recently signed a big contract with Great American Family. Moreover, Sleuthers assumed that this news meant that this series was over, like the Mystery 101 situation with Jill Wagner.

Hallmark will likely have a big press release when this new Hannah Swensen Mystery starts filming. Hopefully, some of these questions will be answered.
