Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has a new mystery series. This is called Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder At The Breakers. “A murder mystery is the talk of the town in 1895 Rhode Island.” This Gilded Age period mystery stars Ali Skovbye, Danny Griffin, and Cut, Color Murder’s Nathan Witte.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ new mystery Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder At The Breakers is a period piece mystery. According to the Hallmark synopsis, it is the summer of 1895. Elite New Yorkers flee the city for Newport, Rhode Island. That is where the summer fun is. This includes everything from yacht races, to balls, and garden parties.
Therefore, 21-year-old Newport Observer society writer Emma Vanderbilt-Cross is there to report on all the action. A cousin to the well-known and wealthy Vanderbilts, she fits in with high society, as she reports on the food and fashion of the rich and privileged.
However, Emma’s frothy reporting is put on hold. That is because Brady Cross, her half-brother, has been accused of murder! The victim is Goddard, Vanderbilt’s business advisor. Things don’t look good for Brady. Now, Emma has to solve this murder herself. Moreover, this is a great way for her to hang out with Jesse Whyte, the cute police detective that makes her heart flutter. She also enlists Harriet Rice, the coroner’s assistant.
It doesn’t take long for Emma to realize she is in some danger. While this means she is closer to finding the truth, she has to be a step ahead. What distracts her is a newcomer to Newport. This attractive man has become the center of attention.
