Unexpected Blessings In Hallmark’s ‘Heaven Down Here’
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ latest Miracles Of Christmas movie is Heaven Down Here. This holiday movie stars Krystal Joy Brown, Tina Lifford, Juan Riedinger, Richard Harmon, and Phylicia Rashad.
“When no one planned to spend Christmas Eve in a diner away from their loved ones, it turns out they were exactly where they needed to be.”
Here are more details.
What Is Hallmark’s Heaven Down Here About?
A group of strangers are stranded at a diner on Christmas Eve. This is the premise of Hallmark’s Heaven Down Here. Here is the full synopsis. It is Christmas Eve. While others are enjoying time with their families, there are “four disparate people who find themselves stranded in a local diner on Christmas Eve when a snowstorm hits the town.”
Imani is working at the diner on this holiday evening. Imani is a widowed mother of two. But, life has been a struggle. She cannot make ends meet. Therefore, she has picked up this shift instead of being with her family. What makes it worse, her Scrooge boss Dan doesn’t make working there any easier.
Next, Pastor Felix has his own problems. While people believe that a man of God would be free of problems. But, that is not the case. He is trying to get food for his needier parishioners. But finding people to donate to the needy has been a challenge. Add that he is alienated from his son, this has been a holiday that tests his faith.
Lastly, hospice nurse Clara has her hands full. Her patient Nancy has been mercurial at best. Nancy’s daughter is moving away, just as she needs her. This makes her question her mortality.
“Throughout the evening, these four bicker, bond, and unwittingly provide each other with the answer to their respective prayers.”
When Is The Premiere Of Heaven Down Here?
The premiere of Heaven Down Here is on Thursday, December 14, at 8 p.m., Eastern, on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. In addition, Heaven Down Here can be seen on Peacock up to 72 hours after the premiere.
Hallmark Movie Inspired By Mickey Guyton Song
The 2020 country hit “Heaven Down Here” by Mickey Guyton inspired this movie. Mickey told Texas Monthly that she was surprised when Hallmark wanted to make a movie based on this song.
“I didn’t expect that. The people at Hallmark told me they loved the title of ‘Heaven Down Here,’ and they thought that they could write a beautiful Christmas movie around it. And I was like, ‘It would be my honor to be part of a Hallmark Christmas movie.'”
However, when the network asked if she wanted to be in the movie, she told them that she was not sure if she “could act or not.” But, Micky admitted that perhaps fear was the reason she didn’t agree to be in the movie.
