My 600-lb Life alum Joyce Del Viscovo had an impressive journey with Dr. Now. She appeared in the show at the age of 44 and weighed 759 pounds. She was already in critical condition when she sought the bariatric surgeon’s help. Her mobility was also affected by her obesity and height of 4’11. My 600-lb Life: Joyce Del Viscovo’s Weight Loss Journey
Depression played a significant role in Joyce’s weight gain. When her father passed away from a heart attack, she had trouble getting out of bed. She resorted to food as her source of comfort and even paid a friend to help her with daily tasks. She was also sexually abused by her stepbrothers, which led to her physiological issues. The Kansas native was already at 400 lbs at the age of 20.
Fortunately, she found the courage to follow Dr. Now’s orders to turn her life around. The My 600-lb Life alum was able to drop 134 pounds throughout her episode, bringing her down to 623 lbs.
Did Joyce Lose Weight After The Show?
Joyce Del Viscovo kept a low profile after her episode in Season 8. However, Dr. Now saw her lack of interest in shedding pounds and assumed that she wasn’t following her 1200-calorie diet properly. It was also revealed in her episode that her behavior towards food never changed and even forced her caretakers to feed her. Due to this, some fans started to speculate that the My 600-lb Life alum didn’t continue pursuing her goals after the show.

A lot of viewers didn’t expect much from Joyce from the beginning of her episode. According to an IG fan page of Dr. Now’s assistant, Kassandra, the My 600-lb Life alum did nothing but complain and blame everybody around her for an hour during her scaling session. Some even deemed her as one of the “laziest” patients of the season.

Joyce Del Viscovo is one of the many patients of Dr. Now who chose to live a private life after the show. Nevertheless, some fans are still hoping that she’s doing well and will soon resurface with a major update about her journey.
