Xochitl Gomez Becomes The Teacher, Shows Crew New Moves
Seventeen-year-old Xochitl Gomez and her dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy have just made it through to the semifinals on Dancing With The Stars.
The pair are certainly hard at work fine-tuning their routines ahead of Tuesday’s episode. But there’s still time for fun now and then too.
Xochitl recently uploaded an adorable video showing how she initially started training to appear on Dancing With The Stars. And she even got the camera crew members in on the excitement too!

This season, Xochitl Gomez has put fans through a rollercoaster of emotions. Many were shocked to hear about her ankle injury ahead of Music Video Night. But she put in the hard work and has been scoring spectacularly lately. Fans are excited to see what she and Val come up with next.
But backstage, they decided to switch up the student/teacher roles a little bit.
“When your teacher becomes the student 😂 In all seriousness, I started going to @zumba classes to help me prep for [DWTS] and now here we are. #StepIntoHappy 💖 🎶: “Ay!” by Blackie ft. Becca #ZumbaMusicLab” the Marvel actress captioned her Instagram post.
“Shout out to our @dancingwiththestars production and camera crew for volunteering to Zumba along with me!” she quickly added in the comments. The video features Xochitl leading Val and the other crew members along in a fun Zumba routine.

Fans loved the video and thought it was a lot of fun to watch. The rehearsal room generally takes a lot of serious time, energy, and concentration so fans enjoyed seeing the crew members get in on the Zumba action.
“Like I said dance your heart out and just be yourself sweetheart!! And have fun!!” one Instagram user wrote in the comments.
“My son and I watch you and vote for you every week! But as a Zumba instructor for 14 years, I now love you even more than I already did! I would definitely take your class ❤️❤️❤️” another wrote.
What do the semifinals have in store for the pair?
Unless something dramatically unexpected happens, most DWTS viewers agree that Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy have a place in the Season 32 finale.
During the semifinals episode, they will perform two routines. First, they will perform a Samba to “Samba” by Gloria Estefan. After that, they will perform a Waltz to “La Vie en rose” by Lady Gaga.
Of course, they need fans’ votes to keep them in the competition. So don’t forget to vote!
