My 600-lb Life alum Lisa Ebberson is one of the most controversial patients in Season 10. She appeared in the show at 637 pounds and has been bedridden for years. The Nebraska native was also told by a doctor that her bones would break if she didn’t do anything about her weight. Due to this, she sought Dr. Now’s help in the hopes of turning her life around, especially for her kids and grandkids. But things didn’t go her way, and she faced multiple issues with the producers. Lisa’s journey with Dr. Now didn’t go as planned. Instead of following the bariatric surgeon’s orders, she threw tantrums and fought the people who tried to help her. The My 600-lb Life alum’s journey also took a devastating turn after her boyfriend died from Covid-19. He was supportive of her weight loss journey, despite initially being her enabler.
Lisa was able to shed 80 pounds after 4 months. However, she quit the show and began to share her terrible experiences. She briefly went back after 8 months, but she never got to see Dr. Now. Her last reported weight was 554 lbs.
Lisa’s Controversial Claims Against The Show
Lisa had a lot of things to say about the show after her episode. During an interview, she claimed that she had a rough time when filming and accused the producers of fabricating her storyline. She added that they don’t care about the patients’ lives. The former My 600-lb Life star also claimed that the producers asked her to turn off her oxygen and urine capture device due to its noise, which ultimately worsened her condition.
She was sent to a hospital for a month and said that she was still suffering from the side effects of being forced to shut down her own kidneys. TLC has yet to share its comments about Lisa Ebberson’s allegations. Nevertheless, she made it clear that she’s been making healthier choices in life with the help of her son’s girlfriend, who’s a nurse.
My 600-lb Life: Lisa Ebberson Is Struggling With Her Health
Lisa deleted most of her social media posts and photos for unknown reasons. However, in May, the My 600-lb Life alum revealed that she’s been struggling with multiple health complications. She said that her severe leg infection was getting worse, and she was having more difficulty breathing. Dr. Now’s former patient also said that she’s suffering from heart problems.
Additionally, she revealed that her house was robbed, which may have hindered her journey. Lisa Ebberson also mentioned receiving a warning from Dr. Now that she doesn’t have long if she doesn’t commit to her weight loss programs.
