The My 600-lb Life alum initially struggled with following his program and even had to work with a nutritionist to know the foods that he should take. He eventually lost enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery. However, his journey took an unexpected turn when Dr. Now discovered that his heart was too weak for the operation. He was advised to continue losing weight before the surgery. Sadly, his episode ended by the time he proceeded with the second chapter of his physical goals.

Thederick Continues to Pursue A Healthy Life

Despite his early departure, Thederick promised the fans that he would continue working hard to lose weight. He has also kept in touch with the fans online. Many of his photos indicate that he was able to maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout the years. In July 2022, he shared full-body photos of himself, showing off the progress he has made. He also uploaded photos of himself being able to drive a car this year. The former My 600-lb Life star even interacted with some of his IG followers and confirmed that he’s still trying to maintain a healthy weight.

It was also reported that Thederick Barnes underwent bariatric surgery and got his lymphedema removed. His last reported weight from the show was 615 lbs. But it seems he has already made significant progress today. Unfortunately, he remains discreet about his current scale.
