Now that UPtv has canceled Bringing Up Bates, many of the family members have turned to social media to profit off of their family’s name. Several of the adult kids have YouTube channels. Some are also influencers on Instagram and make an income by promoting companies’ products.
Katie is one member of the Bates family who’s active on social media and YouTube and is often pushing products to her fans.

On her Instagram page this week, Katie has shared several photos and videos from her family’s vacation. She, her husband Travis, and their six-month-old daughter are on vacation in Aruba with his side of the family.
In one video, Katie and Hailey are sitting by the pool. While Katie enjoys a frozen tropical drink, her baby girl gets a bottle of milk. The six-month-old is wearing a bikini, a sun hat, sunglasses, and little shoes. While sharing this video with the world, Katie said, “Poolside paradise with my bestie!! 🍼 Thanks for spoiling us, Dad!”

Bringing Up Bates fans accuse Katie of exploiting Hailey.
On Reddit, fans are discussing this new video, and many think it was wrong of Katie to post it publicly to her 240,000 Instagram followers. While this should be an innocent video of her little one on vacation, fans are pointing out that there are dangerous people out there.
One fan said, “Travis and Katie must be extremely naive to the dangers of social media.” Someone else chimed in, “You think she would’ve learned a thing or two after the Josh Duggar scandal🤮 Exploitation at its finest.” As fans may know, the Duggars and Bates are longtime friends.
Another Reddit user added, “It becomes exploitation when she posts stuff like this on her PUBLIC INFLUENCER PLATFORM. She clearly doesn’t care about protecting her child.”
