‘Jeopardy!’ Ken Jennings Hits Fan Back With Snarky Response
Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings has more than come into himself and has just hit back at a fan with a snarky response. He has no problem calling out contestants on ridiculous answers. Now, he is apparently clapping back at a fan but what prompted this? More so, what did Jennings have to say? Read on for more details
Jeopardy! Ken Jennings Hits Fan Back With Snarky Response
Fans of the hit long-running game show have come to prefer Ken Jennings over his co-host, Mayim Bialik. They find her to lack personality when interacting with contestants. Additionally, she has some traits that irk viewers. Fortunately, Jennings is back and fans could not be happier. Recently, he had a Jeopardy! contestant who got a question so wrong that it baffled Ken to his core. Moreover, it gave him giggles for a short time as he was trying to do his job.
Now, according to The Sun, Ken Jennings used his wits to clap back at a fan who decided to troll the game show host. Apparently, he was trolling Jennings and shamed him for the way he pronounced the word ‘Saguaro.’ The clue in full was this: “Saguaro cactus & this tequila-producing desert plant both depend on the lesser long-nosed bat for pollination.” So, back to the pronunciation issue. Ken said it like this: “Sa·guah·row” when it is apparently pronounced this way: “suh·waa·row.”
This irked a fan who tweeted their disgust: “I can’t believe you mispronounced saguaro.” Immediately, Ken Jennings decided to put this person in their place. He clapped back with: “I can’t believe you followed me just to say “I’m from Arizona and talk weird.” In a twist, the insult turned into a fan moment as the initial tweeter had no idea Ken would even respond back: “Well, to be honest, I thought I already followed you. Also, you made my day by answering, and my mom will freak.”
This Is Not The First Time
It is not the first time that Ken Jennings has been called out for the way he says certain words. Earlier this year, he was scrutinized for the way he pronounced “Appalachian.” Even then, he had no problem saying how he felt. Yet, as mentioned earlier, viewers seem to significantly prefer Ken over Mayim Bialik if they had to choose. When she exited Season 39 earlier to stand with the writer strike, fans were thrilled. This meant Ken would be back early. As of now, Season 40 is set for next month but that could all change with the ongoing strikes. Either way, fans bite at Ken and he will surely snap back. Maybe that is why they do it.
