Losing a loved one is never easy. But the Drummonds are doing everything in their power to keep moving during this difficult chapter.
It appears their basset hound Walter passed away. Based on the photos, old age seems to be the most likely culprit. However, Ree did not confirm his cause of death.
“Goodbye, sweet wonderful Walter,” Ree captioned her heartwrenching Instagram post. “I’m going to bed early so I can turn off these tears and instead dream sweet memories of you, the most loving loyal pure-hearted doggie our family has ever known. Go find your brother Charlie and have some fun, ol’ boy.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
She attached several photos of Walter living his best life with the family. Her followers flooded the comments section to leave kind words for the family while they mourn.
“Sending you all the love, my friend. Love walks on four paws. 🐾 ♥️” singer Trisha Yearwood wrote.
“The best, most loving and loyal dog there ever was. 😭 sweet sweet Walter, he’s howling at turtles with Charlie now 💔” Ree’s daughter Paige added.
Although Walter has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, it’s clear that Ree Drummond and her family adored the basset hound while he was with them.
The family soldiers on despite the heartbreak
It’s a sad time for Ree Drummond and the rest of the family, but life goes on. Her children are exploring adulthood while her husband continues to keep their farm running.
