The Conners star John Goodman shocked everyone when he surfaced over the weekend and showed off a dramatic weight loss of 200 pounds. While attending the 2023 Monte-Carlo Television Festival in Monaco over the weekend, the 70-year-old actor had jaws hitting the floor as he looked INCREDIBLE while rocking a navy blue suit jacket.

Turns out, the actor put himself on the path of losing weight nearly two decades ago. And, most agree he’s done an impressive job holding himself to his vows of living a better, fuller, and healthier life.

According to Page Six, it wasn’t too much of a surprise to see John Goodman at the festival over the weekend as he was serving as the jury president. Moreover, the outlet recalls that it was back in 2007 when the actor made the decision to turn his life around. At the time, he had hit an all-time high weighing in at 400 pounds. And, he was ready for a change.

He said during an interview with ABC about ten years into his transformation: “In the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits.”

This time, I wanted to do it slowly. Move, exercise. I’m getting to the age where I can’t afford to sit still anymore.”

In an effort to change his ways, the actor gave up alcohol completely. And, he hired a personal trainer to help him continue down the right path.

Fans of The Conners agree his decision to take things slow seems to have worked for him as he’s dropped 200 pounds and just looked a lot happier as he posed for photos during the 2023 Monte-Carlo Television Festival in Monaco this past weekend.

Photos of the actor’s shockingly slim fit are currently making rounds on various social media platforms. And, fans of The Conners star have nothing but good things to say about how great he looks these days. In fact, here’s what some are saying about him:

  • “Good for him! He now looks like a Hamptons broker for Sotheby’s”
  • “For some reason I prefer him bigger. He’s always Dan to me.”
  • “Regardless if it’s bariatric surgery or Ozempic he’s someone I applaud for. Good for him”

Unfortunately for the actor, not all of the comments were positive as some speculated he isn’t being honest about how he lost the weight. Others, however, note that it doesn’t matter how he lost the weight. They are just happy he did so.
