It’s been a short time since Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn ended their long-term romance. However, she was able to happily move on with Matty Healy. They seemed really happy and, at the time, a source told ET this: “Taylor and Matty like each other. Taylor has a crush on Matty and they are having a good time hanging out. Matty also thinks Taylor is awesome and incredibly talented, too. They dated briefly in the past.” Reconnecting seemed to be the best thing for them- until it wasn’t.

Apparently, the couple called it quits, just a short time after they were spotted happily together. Per ET, a source confirmed that it has come to an end: “Taylor and Matty broke up. They are both extremely busy and realized they’re not really compatible with each other.” Additionally, Taylor Swift’s inner circle is really not that shocked about the split. They saw her just end something extremely serious so they did not expect this to last that long. It seems that the romance appeared to be coming to a close when Matty Healy chose to exhibit some interesting behavior.

He is known to kiss people in the crowds of his shows. That act was brought back over the weekend so upon this occurring, it started to make onlookers wonder if he and Taylor Swift were over. Yet, Healy has also been known for being goofy and liking practical jokes so no one really knew what to make of it. Now, it seems that there was more to the story and he was expressing his singlehood and freedom from Taylor.

Taylor Swift won’t have time to be sad as she has her tour where she can let out all of her feelings. Plus, she is known to take her heartbreak and turn it into a best-selling record. Matty Healy might just find himself the subject of her next smash hit. Maybe they will reconnect down the line or maybe he was a good distraction after her breakup. Either way, hopefully, they both find the happiness that they both deserve.
