‘American Idol’ Season 21: Who Is The Winner In 2023?
Tonight was the big American Idol 2023 finale on ABC. The show started out with Pitbull and Lil Jon performing. You could tell that it was going to be a party tonight on the Idol stage. The Top 12 came out and joined them on stage.
Top 3 On American Idol
Tonight the top three on American Idol were mentored by Keith Urban. The final three each performed a Keith Urban song. It started with Megan Danielle who sang “God Whispered Your Name.” Next up was Iam Tongi singing “Making Memories Of Us.” Finally, Colin Stough performed and he sang “Stupid Boy,” which is a fan favorite of Keith Urban.
Then it was time for all three of the finalists to make a hometown visit. Viewers got to see them go home and be greeted by their town. Then Megan Danielle sang “Faithfully” by Journey. Next up was Iam Tongi performing “Cool Down” by Kolohe Kai. The last performance was from Colin Stough and he sang “Either Way” by Chris Stapleton.

Next, it was time for a performance from TLC of their hit song “No Scrubs.” Zachariah Smith then performed with Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon.
Who Were The Final Two?
Tonight on American Idol they narrowed it down to the Top 2 to begin with. About halfway through the show, Ryan Seacrest announced that they had over 13 million votes so far. He then shared that in third place was Colin Stough. He was the first one to go home tonight. This meant that the final two were Megan Danielle and Iam Tongi.
Next up it was time for Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson to perform. Oliver Steele got the chance to come out and perform with Jelly Roll. Then it was time for a performance of “Padam Padam” by Kylie Minogue. Nutsa joined her on stage. This was followed by judge Lionel Richie singing “Sail On’ by the Commodores. He was then joined by American Idol contestants. Ex-judge Keith Urban was up next with “Wild Hearts.”
It was great to see Iam Tongi perform a very important song to him with James Blunt. They sang the song “Monsters,” for Iam’s father. It was a very emotional performance.

“Miracle” by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding was the next song performed on the American Idol finale. Ellie was joined for her song “Burn” by Tyson Venegas. Lauren Daigle song “These Are The Days” next she was joined by Megan Danielle for “Thank God I Do.” Judge Luke Bryan sang his new song “But I Got A Beer In My Hand.” Luke was then joined by Colin Stough to sing “Slow Hand.”
The next performance was Jazmine Sullivan with “Bust Your Windows.” We Ani joined her on stage for this song. Lainey Wilson was joined by Marybeth Byrd for her song “Heart Like A Truck.” Warren Peay joined them as well. Haven Madison sang “Still Need You” with Katy Perry after that. Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard performed “The Impossible Dream.”
The Big Winner of American Idol 2023
Ryan Seacrest surprised the final two and said that they would get to take up to three guests on a Disney Cruise Line vacation. He then shared that at that point over 17 million votes had been cast on the American Idol finale. After that, Megan Danielle came out to sing the song “Dream Girl.” Finally, Iam Tongi sang “I’ll Be Seeing You.”
Finally, after a big three-hour finale, it was time to announce the winner of American Idol Season 21. Your winner is Iam Tongi!
