7 Little Johnstons fans may be catching on to a fake storyline in recent episodes. There are often questions about what’s real and what’s not when it comes to reality TV. 7 Little Johnstons stars head to Finland to visit Joose Jeskanen.
In the Season 13 finale, the Johnstons traveled from Georgia to Finland to visit their exchange student, Joose Jeskanen. Viewers fell in love with Joose upon first meeting him on the show, and he’s maintained his position as a fan favorite. So, they were very excited to see him again.
As we reported, Amber Johnston was interested in learning cuss words in Finnish before heading out of the country. In the episode, the family enjoyed reuniting with Joose and making new memories with him and his family.
Fans think they’ve spotted a fake storyline.
On Reddit, Facebook, and other social media platforms, fans are discussing the latest episode, as they typically do. This time around, they think they’ve caught an inconsistency. In one Facebook post in a 7 Little Johnstons fan group, a fan pointed out that Joose’s siblings “speak perfect English.”
They admitted that this is confusing because the Johnstons previously said Joose came to America to learn English. If his family already speaks it well, this wouldn’t be a reason for him to come to America.
Of course, there are other benefits to Joose living in America. But fans are concerned with the family saying this is why he came to visit and the chance that it may not be true.
On Reddit a year ago, a fan was watching the first episodes featuring Joose and posted about him coming to the United States to learn English. They pointed out:
“I already think he speaks better than the Johnston family. He has pretty good sentence structure and tries to annunciate his words.”
It’s unclear what is really going on here, but some fans feel that this doesn’t add up. Viewers agree that Joose and his family are pretty good at speaking English already, so that shouldn’t have been one of the reasons he lived with the Johnstons.

Who really cares? All the reality shows are scripted to some degree. And Joose didn’t just stay with the Johnstons to learn English but also to spend time with other little people since he’s the only one in his family who is little. It was my understanding that such a visit would also provide a chance to improve his English
Agree, I think alot of the show is scripted but Amber needs to quit interfering in her kids lives, she is way over protective and bossy with all of them.
The 7Little Johnson has become trash talk and they don’t care how it makes them look so fake.
