Scheana Shay Reveals Connection Between 1st & 2nd Weddings

Viewers watched as Scheana Shay had her second Vanderpump Rules wedding Wednesday night. Fans may recall that she wed Michael Shay toward the end of Season 3. However, that marriage did not last and ended in the Season 5 finale. Now, he has married her dream man, Brock Davies but something was very familiar. Scheana Shay Reveals Connection Between 1st & 2nd Weddings

Though Katie Maloney was not a guest at Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’ Mexico wedding, she was still on the same vacation. Since she had booked her non-refundable room when she and Shay were on good terms, Katie was still going. She made it into a birthday girls’ trip with Kristina Kelly. Though Scheana wanted them to have nothing to do with the festivities, their hotel room gave the perfect view of the ceremony. As Katie and Kristina watched, Katie pointed out something familiar from Scheana’s first wedding, at which she had been a guest.

The officiant was the same man. This struck her as odd that all of these years later, this man was still in Scheana Shay’s life and performing weddings for her. Plus, her first marriage ended in disaster so why would she want a repeat? According to Us Weekly, Scheana Shay took to Instagram right after the episode aired. She then shared who this man was. In her stories, she revealed that he is actually her favorite cousin David. After she shared highlights from her big day, she added this: “I also just want to say that it’s not odd that the same person married me because the person who married me is my cousin David.”

Katie then responded and apologized for calling Scheana out for her officiant. “And then later on in the episode, I noticed that Scheana had the same officiant from her first wedding to her second wedding. The thing with weddings is that they are personal, and people always want to weigh in and have comments. … They want to pick things apart. I wasn’t necessarily trying to pick things apart, I was just being observant and I’m not making excuses. I didn’t mean it as an insult and I apologize for that.”

In A Good Place

It looks like the smoke from the Scheana Shay/Katie Maloney fire has begun to fade. The two ladies came together when Tom Sandoval’s cheating scandal emerged. They rallied around his longtime now -ex-girlfriend Ariana Madix. Last night, on WWHL, Lala Kent confirmed that Katie, Scheana, and Ariana all attended EMO Night. This is where the bridge really was built and she is happy that they are back in a good place.
