‘Teen Mom’ Jenelle Evans Lands Full Custody Of Son, 13

Teen Mom alum Jenelle Evans has finally landed full custody of her son, Jace, 13. This comes after years of him living with her mother, Barbara. Yet, recently, it came out that Barbara was ready to hand over custody to Jenelle. However, Jenelle disputed this claim on her social media and said she would not be announcing anything regarding custody. Now, it has changed, and here are all of the details.

After years of back and forth, Jenelle Evans has finally regained full custody of her son, Jace. He is now thirteen but has lived most of his life with Evans’ mother, Barbara. She took custody of him when he was a baby when Jenelle could not properly mother him. The Teen Mom alum had battled with substance abuse and dysfunctional relationships. It only made sense for Barbara to have custody of Jace until her daughter could get back on track. It looked like Jace would be returning to his mom a handful of times.

He has spent a lot of time with Jenelle, her husband, David Eason, and her two other children, Kaiser and Ensley. Jace travels with them and celebrates milestones with his mother and siblings. Therefore, it seemed like the time was getting closer that he would end up with Jenelle. According to Us Weekly, that moment has arrived. Jenelle gave a statement earlier Saturday, March 18th: “My mom and I decided together to grant full custody back to me because we want to build our relationship back as mother and daughter.”

Evans went on to add: “Also, my mother agrees it’s time for Jace to be back with his siblings and living with a mother and father. She also thinks it’s important for Jace to be around a father figure to learn ‘boy things’ and have ‘men talk.’ She has seen the way David parents my children and she knows we’re able to handle it. We want to all get along for the sake of the children and like I said before, building back our relationship as mother and daughter.”

A Done Deal

Jenelle Evans concluded her statement by saying that the paperwork for custody has already been signed. This occurred on March 16th so it is officially a done deal. Fans may recall that Jenelle was just a teenager when she had Jace. More so, his father, Andrew was not really around much. They were initially seen on 16 & Pregnant before moving on to Teen Mom. Soon enough, Jenelle wanted to have fun over raising a child but now she seems to be in a better place. Hopefully, this will mend fences all around and be for the better good.
