Kelly Clarkson finalized her divorce from Brandon Blackstock

In June 2021, Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock. The two were involved in a messy battle. The former spouses fought over everything from their marital home to the custody of their children and even finances. Things got ugly when Kelly filed a lawsuit against Brandon and his stepfather Narvel Blackstock for their complicated work relationship.

The American Idol alum joined their talent company when she was involved with Brandon. She also asked the court to declare her legally single. Brandon claimed that Kelly owed him child support and spousal support. They finalized their divorce on January 7, 2022.

In June 2022, Brandon was ordered to move out of their $1.8 million ranch in Montana. He fought to stay there because he shared that he was leaving Hollywood for a new career in ranching. However, Kelly purchased the house in 2019 under her name, making her the sole owner of the property. Brandon found a new ranch under the new name, V bar Cattle Co.

He will continue to pursue his new career as a full-time rancher and rodeo manager. Kelly Clarkson revealed that their divorce has inspired her to write new music. She addressed their split on her new 2021 Christmas album When Christmas Comes Around. However, Kelly shared on a June 2022 appearance on The Chart Show with Brook Reese that the divorce delayed her from releasing new music.

“Everybody knows the huge divorce I went through and it’s been like two years and not easy with kids,” Kelly Clarkson said, per Us Weekly. “I’m just navigating what [music] I’m comfortable with releasing. So it’s just a hard thing to navigate.”

Recent appearance sparks concern among fans

The “Because of You” had fans concerned about her. They noticed something different about Kelly Clarkson’s demeanor in the latest broadcast of her daytime talk show. She wasn’t her typical bubbly self and had to disappear for a while. While Kelly was present at the start of the broadcast, she wasn’t physically in the studio and she disappeared after that.

The singer had to host her program from home because she caught COVID-19. Kelly split hosting duties with Cher. She did her best to entertain the viewers at home. Meanwhile, fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts and prayers.
