Robin Thicke opens The Masked Singer
It’s the biggest and best way to open The Masked Singer. Robin Thicke sang his performance of “As Long As We Got Each Other,” which had everyone thinking about his late father. Alan Thicke starred in the long-running sitcom from 1985 to 1992. The montage started out with throwback photos of Robin, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger from their childhood and teen years.
It was a nod to the opening credits of Growing Pains. Fans got all the feels from this emotional performance. The performance ended with a throwback photo of the Thicke family on the set of the show. Check out the beautiful montage and performance in the video below.
At the end of the performance, Robin Thicke joined his fellow panelists on the stage. Nicole was dressed as Cher, while Jenny wore a Wonder Woman costume. Ken was dressed as his character, Dr. Ken from his hit ABC sitcom.
The camera panned over to Robin’s mom, who was in the audience. She beamed as she tearfully applauded her son. Gloria looked so proud of him. His panelists told him that his father was watching from above.
Nick Cannon talks about touching tribute
Shortly thereafter, host Nick Cannon introduced the audience and viewers to The Masked Singer. Nick called Robin Thicke’s performance “an amazing tribute to America’s dad, and Robin’s dad, the unforgettable Alan Thicke.”
The latest episode featured the Harp and two new contestants singing their versions of classic TV theme songs. Robin Thicke wasn’t the only one who shed some tears. At the end of the show, the Harp performed her powerful, gospel rendition of the Full House theme song. Jodie Sweetin made an appearance during the episode. She watched the Harp from her seat and broke down in tears.
She gave her seal of approval. Even some of the panelists were choked up over this moment. Ken couldn’t stop thinking about the late Bob Saget when he listened to the Harp and saw Jodie’s reaction. He called it the best Full House tribute.
