Anne Heche Dead At 53, See Disturbing Photo Before Crash
Actress and former Dancing With The Stars contestant Anne Heche has passed away at the age of 53. The news broke a week after her horrific car accident in the Mar Vista neighborhood in Los Angeles. Sources report that Anne’s friend Nancy Davis confirmed the news regarding the actress’s death.
Anne Heche’s loved ones remember her fondly
Since news of the actress’s passing broke, online tributes have begun flooding social media pages.
“Heaven has a new Angel . My loving , kind , fun , endearing and beautiful friend @anneheche went to heaven,” Davis shared on her Instagram account. “I will miss her terribly and cherish all the beautiful memories we have shared . Anne was always the kindest, most thoughtful person who always brought out the best in me. She was so supportive with anything she could do to help @racetoerasems and would always say yes when she knew she could contribute something with her time, talent and creative genius to help find a cure for MS . My heart is broken 💔💔💔”
Family, friends, and fans will all deeply miss Anne Heche.
The actress struggled with addiction in the past and was reportedly unwell prior to the crash. Disturbing images obtained by The Daily Mail feature Anne looking incredibly disheveled behind the wheel of her car with a cup of vodka in the cup holder. It’s heavily suspected that substances played a role in the crash.
TMZ reports that authorities didn’t necessarily believe that Anne Heche was drunk at the time of the crash. However, they did have reason to believe she had cocaine and possibly even fentanyl in her system. The LAPD reportedly told the publication this was discovered after taking blood samples from the actress.
The actress was in a coma for a week after the accident
The crash happened on August 5 in Los Angeles. The driver of a Mini Cooper, later revealed to be Anne Heche, crashed into a private residence and started a massive fire. Authorities declared the home a total loss. Thankfully, the homeowner and her pets managed to escape with their lives.
“The house was tons of smoke. I think they used the crane to move the car to extract the driver. It was crazy,” an eyewitness told NBC Los Angeles in the aftermath of the accident.
Heche was in a coma for a week following the accident. Her family opted to take her off life support after medical teams determined whether or not she would be able to donate her organs.

The actress participated in Dancing With The Stars Season 29. She and her partner Keo Motsepe finished in 13th place out of 15 couples. Anne Heche didn’t particularly enjoy her time on the show and even famously stormed off the set after her elimination.
“When I told my story last night … it triggered something in me. It took me 20 years to tell my story, and to articulate it the way Dancing With The Stars allowed me to,” Anne told ET after taking some time to collect herself.
Funeral arrangements for the actress are currently pending.
